that last adjustment should be substance over form. I am not sure whether my answer of the adjustment is acceptable. Gee. I also cannot balance Q2 and Q3. Nearly impossible to balance at first try for anyone imho.

ya lor don't even know can pass or not, all i know is this F7 sitting is quite tough, i am sitting for the 2nd time, and the 1st time i fail by 8 marks, i tink tis one i gonna do badly sighhhh

Hi all,

Any recommendations for lecturers for the options papers? (Assuming none have been chosen yet) Was taking lessons at SAA, so will need to get feedback from students from other schools.

P4: Chow Kim Tai (SAA) / Andrew Pang (Kaplan) / Sami (LSBF)
P5: Ian Lim (SAA) / Elaine Tan (Kaplan) / Sami (LSBF)
P6: Goh Sher Wee (SAA) / Tommy Yee (Kaplan)
P7: Chee Hay Keong (SAA) / Connie Richardson (Kaplan) / Paul Owen Merison (LSBF)

From what I've heard, Saminathan's usually the number one choice when it comes to his modules, but since LSBF is a relatively new entrant, I am not too sure about their administrative fluidity and availability of revision lessons, amongst other concerns.

So yeah, hoping to get some opinions from all of ya.

As for the choice of papers, that will be left to another day's worrying.

tke chow kim tai for P4, he is gd!!

Kaplan used to have very goog lecturers. But the best lecturers from Kaplan has left one by one.. For local students, go to LSBF instead.

Personally, I think Kaplan has better tutors...
I see most of the students taking ACCA courses there are from companies...

I probably will be taking P6 and 7 for the options papers. Any advice on lecturers?

P6: Goh Sher Wee (SAA) / Tommy Yee (Kaplan)
P7: Chee Hay Keong (SAA) / Connie Richardson (Kaplan) / Paul Owen Merison (LSBF)

Strange that LSBF has not disclosed the name of the P6 lecturer.

personally i am taking Goh Sher Wee's P6 class next sem. many people don't like him because he does waste some time sharing his stories and personal life. for me, i am fine with that cos i feel that it makes the lesson less 'dry' and more relaxed pace especially it's hard to concentrate after a long day at work.

I took Mr Chee's P7 last sem. he is pretty good and i do like his notes especially for revision. he compiles impt points that are useful for exams. i have not attend the other 2 lecturers' classes to comment much. from what i know, connie's class is via online lecture. and for Paul, i am not too sure if he has taught in sg prior to july intake. if no, then there may be a slight risk for people who are taking the sgp standards.

For P6 I am pretty certain Yvonne Goh would be teaching at LSBF. However, she is not announcing where exactly she is going as she is still serving her notice from her departure from Kaplan. But most probably LSBF.

For those who like Roy Goh, can also go to LSBF, for he is also serving his notice like Yvonne.

F7, I heard SAA Chee Hay Keong is good.

P6's really the tricky one here. The thing is we can't be 100% sure Yvonne Goh will be teaching at LSBF and if it turns out she isn't, or will be teaching only the semester after, then students will have to ask for a refund, or worse stick with whoever is teaching tax there.

EDIT: LSBF has replied: Please take note that we won’t be offering any P6 class this term due to non-availability of the tutor for P6 this term. So Yvonne's whereabouts are up for anyone to guess.

CHK teach F7 meh? lol.. think you meant P7? He's pretty good especially if you like local context of teaching. The Kaplan one is their old timer while the LBSF is supposedly a star lecturer like Sami.

Tax usually people go for the two Gohs, GSW does squander away quite some time. Perhaps he wants to do things at a pace he thought is best for students. As for other lecturers, I think nobody really have any experience with them?

Ya I mean P7. I heard GSW likes to use the teaching time by telling stories about himself instead on covering the syllabus. Which is why I don't understand why people still recommend him. Yvonne on the other hand try to cover the syllabus as much as she can and she uses diagrams to illustrate tax rules and makes the learning more interesting.

If I am not wrong Yvonne also produces more prizewinners than GSW.
