Indeed, I got stuck immediately after looking at Q1 part 1. :s13:

i stuck after i forgot how to calc MVd for redeemable bonds (<- this one I thought IRR is find rate >.< dumb dumb me...)

then i also got confused for the debt part should do the redeemable bond or go after re-structuring (which they dun intend to have debt)... *blur*

Hi guys,

Acca student here, I just attempted f5,f6 and f9 last week. I am confident that I can pass. I still have f4 f7 and f8 left before i can sit get the advanced diploma.

I want to do a degree in unisim since i can afford it. I was thinking of either Accountancy or Finance. I looked at the syllabus and most of what they teach in accountancy, I have already learnt in f1,2,3,5,6,9.

So what i am asking is which one is better for me? I am committed to finish my acca studies but also want an academic qualification.

thx

Looking for advise...

Should i Take P1 To P3... Which 2 Papers to take 1st?

P1 and P3.. Then following sem P2 with 2 options. Lets say u are choosing P7 as one of your options. Then it will match well with P2.

Hi people,

I taking F5 for dec13 exam.
Is F5 hoo from kaplan good?

i just sat my F5 exams, and i went for hoo sen kai's lectures and revision classes. very friendly and goes at a very steady pace. if you go to him with any questions he will make sure you understand the content.

his predictions for what will come out in exams are accurate too. He sets questions from both ACCA and CIMA (which is harder in my opinion). he gives tons of practice questions too. I really recommend him for F5.

Could anyone please tell me is completing PER is required / mandatory for the graduating? I don't intend to join workforce now due to personal issues. :s22:

thanks again

Lsbf Sami.. U need to tolerate his handwriting though. But lsbf does send weekly lecture slides to students, so if u missed anything, u can download and refer :)

Or u can do SAA Chow Kim Tai.. Took him for P4, found him quite clear and precise. He speaks slower than Sami, so it depends on your preference and timetable too!

compare to Chow Kim Tai and Sami which one u would recommend for both theory and calculation. i m quite scare of theory cos last time f5 i attend Ian Lim at SAA, he is good at calculation but he did not do much for theory. i think SAA is cheaper than lsbf and i can get discount cos i m old student :p. somemore i need to do 2 paper this semester, f4 and f9.

Actually I find sami theory too brief. Jus based on his notes, it's not good enough for exams. U need to read up the textbook and past yr papers for the theory portion to be able to achieve and write exam standard answers.

I took both Sami n Chow Kim Tai F9 class before.

Personally I prefer Mr Chow cos his explanation is better and more precise.
