Hey guys,

Just recently got into acca. I need to find out on which papers that I'm able to self study with textbooks n revision kits from f4 onwards, appreciate any replys or comments.

Personally did self study on F5, F6, F8 and F9 and my conclusion is:

F5 is self-study-able provided you have a solid foundation in F2 management accounting (or you are exempted from this paper then your costing concepts must be good). Content wise this paper not heavy, but require of deep understanding of the topic as question spotting is difficult for this paper. If you really want a solid pass, I feel BPP textbook is very good for F5.

F6 - basically passing this paper is very easy by just practicing the past year exam questions. You need to go through all basic tax concepts before attempting past year questions. To pass, you just need to have solid marks on corporate tax, individual tax and GST. IMO, if you just know this 3 well, it is already a pass.

F8 - The toughest paper in F level, I do not suggest you to do self study. I did self study and I regret as audit is not a subject that is considered easy. It requires someone who knows the area well to guide you. It is highly application based paper but you still have to do some memorising works on the auditing standards.

F9 - This paper can be self-studied, but not advisable. Some concepts of finance are hard to grasp. But if you just aiming a pass, self study is doable.
