I have diploma in Accountancy from Ngee Ann. 2011. Just ORD currently working in hospital in Finance.

Wanted to go SIM UOL but sadly my parents due to some reason not able to get a bank loan. So here I am at the crossroad.

I missed the sign up deadline to be "grandfather" of ACCA. But ACCA called me and say it's okay. I thinking going for part time and star clearing my ACCA papers. Thinking doing F4,F5 and F6 in June 2014.

I read this forum for quite sometime now.... And here's my understanding:
1. We go for the lecturers instead of the school. So basically we are school hopping from one to another. I'm wondering in one semester do you go for two schools? Or you all group the papers you all want to study in that sitting then go to one school? So you all skipped papers?

2. I heard OBU not recognized.

3. Since I going for June 14 papers, is it too early to sign up in ACCA now? I now at payment stage.

4. This is my life long dream:
I wanna to be in company giving advice to the management based on finance and HR. Based on this dream, should I do ACCA? What path should I take? I'm think ACCA--> audit --> advisory.

And also, if possible, be a lecturer next time. But I don't think schools hire ACCA to be lecturer?

4. I don't think I want to join the big 4 yet until I cleared my ACCA. I got offer to go interview but I choose the hospital one. Firstly due to the meaningful behind the job(although work in finance, it's still healthcare) and it's kinda work-life balance. Manager is supportive and encourage me go for ACCA. Is this whole thing a good idea?

1. Can go to any school you want. Eg. F4 you go for Mr X from School ABC, F5 you for Ms Y from School XYZ. It doesn't matter. It is just a tuition provider.

As for being grandfather-ed into ISCA (note it is ISCA not ACCA), of course ACCA tell you it is ok. It is not even their problem. From my view, you can always join ISCA through other means after you have completed your ACCA.

2. Didn't do OBU myself. If you are foreigner then it value adds because they need a "degree" to get EP. For locals, i think don't bother unless you view it as a degree. It boils down to personal perception.

3. Yes it is too early. Classes for Jun 2014 exams starts registration from third week of december 2013. Save money for now ba.

4. It's your dream, pursue the way you want it. Can't comment.

5. Up to your personal choice again. To join big4 or not or any other environment. No one can say who had the better deal.

Hi! Thanks for the reply! May I seek advice, when should I register? Before I want to register for classes?
