Hi. I have graduated from sim-uol in accounting and I am planing to take acca instead of Sqp. But my friends told me I should just take sqp instead of acca. May I know is there anyone here who's also from uol taking acca? Thank you so much!!

Just take sqp lah. Acca won't help you get CPA directly already.

Hi I actually plans to take take 1 every 3 months. I actually don't think I will be able to manage 2-3 papers at a go because I will be working full time when i am taking the papers but I will also need to find out how does night classes works and how many sessions and how long will all the sessions be conducted over. Any advice on night classes information?

Just take as many papers as you can in the earlier stages. Cause you will spending more time re-taking the last few papers.

Why can't you just take up an accounting degree & move on instead of waiting for the result?

acca will sgin the agreement with ISCA in DEC 2016....Not comfirm yet but I think acca will need to take few more papers to get the CA in future.

Hi saya. Thanks for the info. Omg means I have to wait tor another to see if I should take acca for the chartered accountant. Sighhhh

much apologies to be asking such a question. i tried searching in this thread but the answers were insufficient. appreciate if some senpai can share some insights.

1. if i registered as a pte student to self study and take all F1-F3 papers, cleared them, i sld be awarded with this ACCA Diploma. Will ACCA mail me this cert or I print from MyACCA myself? or can arrange for a local school to print it?

2. i may hop around diff sch when taking the lvl 2 papers, and upon completion of F4-F9 + OBU RAP, how will i expect to receive the degree? e.g. the local institution give or ACCA/OBU mail me, or will there be some form of convocation in singapore for me to receive it?

much appreciated. =)

1) the cert will be in your 'myacca' account. you can view and download it out to print. otherwise, acca will charge you a fee to send you the hard copy. maybe quality is better. if the school provides computer and printing services, you can ask them to print for you. its the same as you printing it yourself though.

2) upon completion of OBU, obu themselves will release an e-copy of the results and award confirmation slip on their obu website. and the physical copy will be mailed out 2-3 months later to your singapore address at no charges.

OBU is in the process of planning their 2016 Regional Graduation Ceremony in Singapore. It is expected, but not yet confirmed, that the Singapore ceremony will take place in late October 2016. This ceremony will be for period 30 and period 31 graduates living in Singapore. They also plan to host a Kuala Lumpur ceremony in late October 2016 for Malaysian graduates and those from neighbouring countries.

good luck.

P1 and P2

Hi,

I want to get the suggestion for below.

1. i passed my F7 exam from Ben Li(SAA) few years back. And I just took P2 exam this December. I attended P2 at Sami class but i can't catch up the way he teach standard and especially cash flow. Too fast for me. I think i will fail P2. I need to re-attend the class. But I don't want to attend Sami anymore. Could anyone suggest how is the Ben Li teaching style for P2.

2. I have registered P1 with Mr Chee(lsbf) 2016 Jan. But one of my friend said F8 Mr Chee is good but P1 Domnic is better for case study. P1 is different from F8 cos P1 has more case study. Could anyone suggest Mr Chee or Domnic for P1 and how is their teaching style.

Thanks in advance.

Dear sandi,

1) i have personally taken F7 with Ben Lee and subsequently P2 with him as well. if you have initially taken f7 with ben lee and try to make a switch to other lecturers for p2, chances are you won't be able to catch anything as his method is different from others Ie; sami or goh sher wee. Ben's method is more time consuming in my opinion and the other lecturers normally use 'schedule' method. the schedule method is also used as model answers in exam papers. please correct me if i'm wrong. my suggestion would be stick with ben lee for p2. since you attended his f7 lesson. he should be able to help you pass if you put in decent effort. unless you really don't like his method then you will have to try and understand the methods used by other lecturers.

2) please go with ap daniel chee. there's a reason why he's highly sought after by students as well as schools. i prefer the more informal approach to teaching.

as far as i'm concerned, lecturers do play a part in helping you pass your exams. but ultimately, it also depends on your own individual effort. don't fault the lecturer if you didn't put in sufficient time in revising or studying. try and go with the lecturer you have initially chosen and stick with it if you think he/she helps/helped/or will help you. give every lecturer a chance to prove their worth.

good luck.

f2,f3,f5,f6,f8,f9, p2, which of the following papers were you good at? or rather, confident in?

Hmmm, f5 was the only module I have gotten 70 over marks. F6, 8 was about 60 plus then f4 f7 f9 was just 50 ish

more importantly, how confident do you feel when attempting these papers? any interest in any particular paper? thats the more important question. marks is just a basic indicator only..

from what you have answered,

you would probably be better at 1) P5, followed by 2) P6 or P7, and lastly P4.
