I am always tasked with booking hotel accommodation when my family wants to go for holiday overseas. It is easier to book accommodation for an even number of people as not many hotel rooms can accommodate an extra bed. Just want to check with travellers who have experience booking one or two-bedroom type of hotel accommodation. Do hotels allow 3 people to stay in a one-bedroom or 5 people to stay in a two-bedroom with living room type of accommodation? The fifth person can sleep on the sofa in the living room. When I book hotel accommodation online, I notice many hotels state a maximum of 4 people for a 2-bedroom even though such accommodation comes with a living room. Not only is it cheaper to book this type of accommodation, I find such accommodation is good for families as it comes with a living room.
