Hi,
This hotel I am going to book has only double rooms left. We are 2 Adults and 2 children. The hotel has no extra bed and asked me to book 2 double rooms. But 2 rooms are out of my budget. 4 of us can actually share the bed. Problem is, if I just book one double room, will the hotel insist us to book 2 rooms when i check in? The hotel rule is children above 6 consider adults and need a bed. my kids are above 6 already.
Any advice, thanks.

Book hotel puri lor.

Total is 3200NT for 2 queen size beds.
Spacious room. Need to write in to ask for it.:D

When u check in, they will only request for 1 passport, so just if when asked, say the other is 5 y/o lor. And also keep ur kids away, in case they say: Marmi, daredi, moi is 7 y/o...

Then ur lobang picha liao.

Going in Dec. Most of the hotels I checked, Cityinn, Dandy, hotel puri, no more family rooms liao. Anyway, that hotel i mentioned, i got corporate rates, so thought might as well use it. The double room, they have extra large king bed, so shld be big enough. Problem is, don't know how strict are they? will they really check how many people staying? (they asked during booking) During checkin, can probably hide the kids, but when go breakfast time, they will know.

Then look for other hotel lor. I know justsleep price is about 4500 for a 3 super single size bed per night.

So yap as u say, breakfast sure know one.

U try to write to puri, the other time i booked, they do not have that option. Then was asked to fill in a form and mail back to get that room. Book with hotels direct, not thru agoda or whatever third party. May not come as cheap. Or even corporate, may not be cheapest after all.

better to stick to the hotel policy. because there is also the safety concern. if the room is for 2, but 4 stayed in it, touch wood, fire happens. they will not be responsible for the extra 2 heads.

try to get family room that sleeps 4. now then book for dec will be tough. last time i also got into this situation, i found fullerton hotel in daan district still got family room. you can try it. it has online booking.

Heard they are pretty strict in the headcount. had ever emailed them to enquire and they said usually they will charge the extra head at a certain amount fm NT300-500 depends on hotel range. Eg if you have 4 you booked 3-bedded the 4th will be charged extra. if you booked 4-bedded and you had 5 will charge extra NT for the 5th. As long as the child is above 6yrs old or 110cm will be considered as 1 person. I was told this.

Try itrip taipei at XMD. I got 4 friends with me during my last trip. I booked a triple room for them (their family room for 4 pax fully booked) and add one extra bed. The prices are quite reasonable. About $130 per night (IIRC).
