Hi bro, Biei is a really small town and there's very few hotels/roykans located in its town area. Instead, I'd recommend you stay in either Asahikawa or Furano and then make a day trip to Biei. Biei, is afterall in between Asahikawa and Furano. Traveling time is quite short actually. It takes ard 1.5 hrs to drive from Biei to Furano.

There's a whole lot of fantastic onsen hotels at Daisetsuzan National Park. And most offer pretty large Japs style rooms too.

I stayed here when I was there last May. It's the oldest operating hotel in the whole Kamikawa/Sounkyo Gorge region. The rooms were enormous even by western standards. fantastic dinner/breakfast were included... an option that's highly valued over there... cos other than 7-11 and Senicomart, the town is dead quiet after 6pm. You will be stuck if you do not have a really dinner option at that time.

Sounkaku Grand Hotel - Sounkyo Onsen -

Other excellent choices ard that area can be found here too

層雲峡温泉 層雲峡 朝陽亭 |【公式】 北海道の温泉宿■野口観光グループ This onsen hotel is located almost ABOVE Sounkaku Grand hotel on a small hill. The views looking out from the hotel is simply fantastic. The rates are slightly higher than Sounkaku Grand, but from the reviews, this hotel is even more lux than Sounkaku Grand.

??????? ???????????? Another great choice. All these onsen hotels are very close to one another... certainly within visual distance.

Rem to use booking.com or hotels.com for best rates.

thanks all for the help! still looking for accomodation for biei...

As I've said before, there's hardly any hotels in Biei itself. Even Biei/Furano tourism office recommends staying in Furano and then make a day trip to Biei.
