Anyone know if SIT - NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY
Electrical Power Engineering, BEng (Hons), once graduate able to get PE or need postgrad degree?

All SIT-Overseas Universities engineering degrees graduates need to apply for a postgrad masters programme to attain PEB accreditations.

You need to refer to the accredited degree list on PEB website. Generally, an accredited engineering degree must be a 4 year honours bachelor degree or a masters of engineering.

The fastest to attain PEB in Singapore as of now is, study for a 2 year SIT-Overseas University engineering degree then a 1 year Masters of engineering at NUS or NTU. Total 3 years.

another method is to do final year in overseas. its says on campus but never state the number of contact hours required in overseas

PSB as far as i am concern not accredited and hor, from my exp in that industry from sg, if u are into power, most likely u will not be accepted in electrical discipline if u are from PSB. to be precise, upon graduation, u will try to apply degree posting for cadet electrical engineer with concultants/construction firm such as becas/sembcorp/PB/PW/WSP/Jacobs/FW/kellogs/JTC/JMpang/rotary they will throw ur resume in the bin w/o looking.

becos, there is very little possibility u are capable enough to be an independent electrical design engineer with u studied with them. There is no such thing as being underwing by senior. first day of work, i throw u a project to tender, say the whole of west gate commercial bldg, do u have any idea where to start?


BUT if u r already working for those firms before u took ur degree, u may hv a chance to be converted. without working exp with these companies, there is no way u get to be LEW or PE or CE #hard truths. even then, they may just chuck u to work with instruments & controls discipline not power.

But if u are not looking into these industry or wanna be power engineer, then it doesnt matter if ur cert is PEB recognise. period
