Acer cpu or Lenovo Cpu?

I want to buy an off the shelf cpu to replace my old computer. which brand is better?

Or HP one is better?

Just diy la save the money for the customizabilty and avoid the lousy parts that prebuild or boutique pc may put in the pc. Sometimes those pc may use those unknown jiakpalang parts. Going diy can feel the satisfaction of building up a rig and see it running for the first time. The feeling is shok.

Nothing from ARM even comes remotely close to general purpose computing. The only closest competitor at this point of time is POWER.

How do you even know they are lousy parts? Just by making wild claims?

There is a Dell workstation in my office that has been going strong for 12 years while most DIY machines don't ever seem to last more than 5 years before uplorry. So based on this experience I can say DIY uses lousy components because they don't last?

Acer's service centre is all the way in Jurong, International Business Park. Not a convenient place to reach at all.

Anyway, most OEM systems tend to outlast their warranties by a very long margin.

OEM PCs tend to come with bad psu.. the structure integrity might also be cheap inside.

Most issue experienced are software issue anyway, plenty support available on google.

For pre-built, customer service should be the first consideration. I would only consider Dell or HP. Otherwise, might as well build your own PC.

Most service centers are found in some industrial parks. Can't be helped. As long as it is near to you place, that's fine.

Anyway, desktops usually comes with onsitr warranty, so there is no need to lug it back to service centers anyway.

Most distributors like Convergent and Corbell also located in industrial park.

And definitely no on site warranty.

LOL! FYI most service center are handled by outsource.
Up to TS whether:

IT Savvy enough - DIY much cheaper than branded but
troublesome will be a challenge as well as RMA
IT incline - OEM/Branded, any problem either carry in
or onsite
So far I think only Asus got Onsite support but a lot
people complain Asus service (Vendor) not very good.

Even lately I did not buy Asus laptop, fear of CMI and sucky service.
Nothing against Asus but just Google seriously can see a batch of complains.

For someone who are not interested in DIY, then buying a off-the-shelf PC is the obvious choice.

HP also uses India call centre, so, not much difference bah.

I am buying for stocks trading and video watching like 4k video.

Below 1k will be good enough, i play flash games nowadays, not into gaming anymore.

Btw, which of these graphic card is better? I lost touch with hardware stuff already.
