S$1200 for a GT625??? I think if u DIY, u can get 750ti at least... Which is way better.

If its just for basic use, then get a giga brix or intel NUC and get ssd.

Hmmm...... lets see:

http://www.courts.com.sg/Products/P...TEL-CORE-I74790-16GB-WIN-81-AXC605-i479MR162T
Aspire XC-605 (i479MR162T)
Acer Aspire XC-605 (i479MR162T)

-$1199 SRP approx
-i7 4790
-16GB RAM
-GT 710
-1TB HDD
-No SSD
-Slim Casing
-220W PSU of unknown build quality

1) An i7 is overkill for gaming and most productivity tasks as most games and normal office software generally do not make use of Hyperthreading and an i5 is good enough for these tasks.

2) The GT 710 is a low end entry level GPU and is only capable of playing most modern 'AAA' games at low settings at best.

3) The system does not contain an SSD, hence you will not be able to enjoy fast boot times and fast system response times that a SSD is able to provide.

4) 16GB RAM is overkill for everyday usage and gaming as games will only use at most 8GB RAM unless the game has memory leak issues.

5) The PSU has a wattage rating of 220W only and if you wish to upgrade the system, you may need to change the PSU. However, small form factor systems like this generally uses TFX or Flex ATX PSUs and good PSUs (ie. not firecrackers/bomb) in these form factors are difficult to find.

6) This system comes in a slim casing which means that this system will be very difficult to upgrade as components like a GPU or SSD may not fit into the system due to space restrictions/case design and due to the low wattage of the PSU.

In conclusion, this system:

-is very overkill for office work/web surfing/watching videos
-is very unsuitable for gaming due to the very weak GPU
-is very hard to upgrade due to case design and PSU limits
-is very overpriced for the specs that you are getting as you can easily get a vastly superior system for the price that you are paying if you DIY your own computer.

And thus, I don't know about you, but I absolutely refuse to pay $1199 for an overpriced system that is neither here nor there.

Thanks for the informative review!

Actually I am looking for a small sized but powerful CPU, use for simple gaming, web surfing and watching some HD videos.

Can anyone recommend any brands?

Tried to build own CPU last time but it didn't last very long...

You don't need i7 to play simple game and surf web. WASTE MONEY and overkill.

An i3 with a better graphic card like GTX750ti will OUTPERFORM the i7 acer mini pc in gaming by 5 times and still perform on par during basic usage like web surfing, watch video etc.

I recommend you to build in SLS. Go PCthemes, tell them your budget, your normal usage and they will create magic for you.

I would suggest getting recommendations here instead, bring parts list to PC themes, bargain for price discounts (usually a few dollars off nia), and ask them to assemble for you.
