Acer XG270HU

Hi

I cannot seem to find a thread for this particular monitor, it's prolly unpopular.

Does anyone have it and mind sharing their color calibration?

Does it look okay out of the box? (Mine hasn't arrived yet)

Because for one, it is a Freesync Monitor. Most people at that time during its release has an Nvidia graphics card so Freesync is of no use. So might as well go for the G-Sync Acer XB271HU monitor

Secondly, this is a TN panel whereby the XB271HU is an IPS panel.

Thirdly, 144Hz (XG270HU) vs 165Hz (XB271HU).

But actually, only the 1st matters most since if you have Nvidia GPU, go for XB271HU and if you have an AMD GPU, then go for XG270HU. The end.

Yea I read up about 50 pages of it already. It is a completely different monitor though, as in XB271HU is not a "direct newer version" of XG270HU

I think you are talking about the color of the monitor's appearance?

I have a Nvidia card. But it scares me to pay 2x the price.
XB271HU would def be my top choice but.... a guy's gotta feed his family first
Free sync is so common it's as if buyers are barely paying any mark-up, while Nvidia is just ripping off gamers

My 1070 should output about 75~100 FPS on most games at 2K
Hence why I'm mostly concerned about the color of a TN panel, which usually differenciate one from an IPS panel, your second point

It is 8 bit though, so I am assuming it has decent default color reproduction but want to hear personal experiences from y'all

EDIT: Just saw it went from 11 stock to zero on Lazada. So hopefully someone has bought one as well XD

Thanks a lot! I am very excited to try it out.
Many reviews online expressed that this is a really good "display" for its specs and performance as a TN.

The only thing every critics hated about was lack of feature such as USB ports and height adjustment. BenQ XL2730z is a gaming monitor with close performance to XG270 but with the design I just mentioned, sort of an upgraded XG270HU if anyone is interested.

For anyone who has the monitor and wants to calibrate their color, which I think is already pretty good for a TN panel out of the box.

There is a color calibration section where the website provides its ICC profile.

This is truly a great budget 144hz monitor, if you can live without height adjustment, extra USB ports and G-Sync. Color performance I'd say is about 95% of most IPS panel because it's 8 bits.

Although maybe it's just me, I only notice small improvement in terms of gaming and general smoothness. Previously had a IPS 60hz panel, except previously if above 60FPS I noticed tearing. Right now there is no tearing if I run perfectly at 144FPS.
Best thing so far is the QHD resolution which is the best upgrade for me since I have a 1070 and don't think I can utilize any 4K monitor atm.

With that, for anyone who's consider XG270HU.
