Hi guys I will be going off to Phuket for the first time in march. Will be interested in cycling, canoeing, snorkeling and other budget action packed activities.

So far I have discovered Phuket Active Tours & Outdoor Adventures - ATV - Biking - Thai Boxing - Horse Riding - Surf School and singapore groupon. Are the prices there better then going phuket itself to 'order'?

I have a class 2b lic, so planning to rent a motorcycle to go around the island.

Suggestions will be appreciated :)

Make sure you observe the rules in phuket. The TP over there love to pull over foreigners to earn extra bucks :)

You don't need license to ride a scooter there.

I always recommend the sea kayaking into the hidden lagoons (and the "hongs"). Can google for it.

Hey guys I'm back from vacation Phuket. We stay over at marriott mai khao beach club.

There were free activities like kayak and body boards at mai khao beach for the hotel guest. It was really awesome cause there wasnt much people at the beach and the water was pretty clear :). Only if you aren't a good swimmer, you better head clear of the sea or wear a life jacket, the waves there were huge and strong (which was the best part for me, kinda like free rollercoaster lol). Read up about dangers of the sea like rip current and how to counter them should be ok.

Patong beach was such a let down for me. The beach was littered with rubbish and the sea was mucky and certain parts had a layer of oil film over it. My 2 nephews did parasailing which cost around $50sd a pop. It was kinda short with the extended ride lasting 2 and a 1/2 mins but they had blast which was good. They guys managing the parasail were really pro and daring sia, can just climb up to guide the parachute without harness!

The weekend night market is also highly recommended. Remember to bring an empty stomach. So many goodies and street food to try! I first time tried their oyster thingy and it was damn good and fresh!

I must state this out that I felt some racist especially at this mall called the Central. I think they really dislike chinese people or should I say china people over there. Anyway would not recommend going there, many stores actually price their stuffs there higher, example would be dairy queen blizzard 70+baht but at tesco mall dairy queen was like 30+baht.

Another good affordable cafe food would be black canyon coffee, first time ate there and was pretty impress
