Actually why hdb don't want to build carpark underground in new bto estates?

Last time from open air carpark move to multi storey carpark. How come those scholars inside hdb and ura didn't think of underground carpark?

huh, nowadays if possible, all bto the car park is built on 1st storey, 2nd storey is landscape deck then 3rd floor onwards are the residential ones.

Not everyone has car. The cost to build underground end up subsidized by those no car via more expensive HDB unit since all on same plot of land. Multi storey carpark cheaper to built and only those have car pay for it

now hdb design blocks so that got mscp in the centre of the blocks to provide space for wind flow etc

maybe thats their rationale for building mscp - balance of cost (underground CP) and space saving (open air carpark)

Hearsay need heavy and deep foundation to support new 40++ floors of BTO. So basement cannot be carpark.... must be all concrete to take the weight.
