Adding a third monitor

hi I am using a Inspiron 3000 series. Now using 2 monitors and wanted to add a third.

I read that I can only add a third if I use usb-vga adapter or buy a new graphic card. May I know which one is a better option?

I spend most of my time typing on screen so no game involved. thanks

yes. As long as it is usb 3 it will work.
