I am planning to build a 4K gaming pc with 7800x3d cpu
My budget is under $4k

I was quoted the following component
AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D 4.2GHz 8CORE/16THREAD
MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI AX ARGB
COOLER MASTER MASTER LIQUID 360MM COOLER
G.SKILL TRIDENT Z5 NEO RGB 6000MHZ 16GBX2 32GB CL32
SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 7900XTX GAMING OC VAPOR-X 24GB GDDR6
CRUCIAL P3 PLUS 2TB GEN4 NVMe M.2
SILVERSTONE DA850-850W 80+ GOLD
LIAN LI O11 DYNAMIC EVO CASING
10 X120MM LIAN LI AL120 FAN

$3750/-

I know this built fits right within my budget but I would like to check with the expert here if the components are optimal for 4K gaming purpose and whether the price is reasonable for this built.

thanks for your time and help :)

Cheaper than my similar specs 7800X3D but I bought it at the first day availability of it at SLS... and I got double of your RAM and bigger PSU from Seasonic Vertex 1000W.... casing wise using Lian Li LANCOOL III

I guess my additional price is due to the motherboard and SSD...

Looks OK but change that budget SSD to either Samsung 980 Pro or WD black.

Actually, the AIO might be unnecessary... since 7800X3D dun really need that much cooling... at least on my system if I never set Eco Mode... it draws about 94W max... which my Dark Rock Pro 4 handle quite okay.. but you can get something cheaper and still works better like DeepCool AK620... and the 10x120MM LIAN AL120 FAN maybe quite expensive also... dun think those are cheap... that is why beside the default ones that came with my casing.. I actually bought Antec and Artic case fans...

Actually no such thing as too much cooling, the cooler your chip is, the more efficient it will operate.

Say your chip wants to hit the 5.2GHz frequency bin; at 75 deg Celsius, it will need 1.2V to achieve 5.2GHz whereas at 65 deg Celsius, only 1.1V is needed. Same logic for GPUs.

Voltage requirement is pulled out of my ass because i'm not familiar with Zen 4, but you get the idea, cooler chip = lower power consumption.

I think he is specifically talking about 7800X3D.... which can be quite different from the X series in the same generation... or Intel...

Not saying AIO not good.. but is it whether necessary for this particular CPU or not... I mean for sure budget not an issue.. go for the best... or even choose the Lian Li Galahad for the sweet ARGB looks... :ROFLMAO:

Just get the arctic freezer AIO. Reasonable priced AIO with good performance.

2TB is not enough.....i got 2+2 and already using up 2TB total. Just a few games, some movie/TV shows downloads and Windows

just think, BG3 is 130gig. Starfield also going to be similar size....Diablo 4, Cyberpunk 70gig each...

plus if u have 4k monitor, ur movies/TV shows u download is 4k (u got OLED? then u will be download really large size high quality movies (30-40gig each)

But for looks, wouldnt the lian li infinity fans looks way better? the case just perfect for those fans, with Lian Li strimers....although AL120s are very cheap in Lazada now....

Even games like Genshin already eat 80GB and more spaces. Just get more 2TB NVMe or just go for 4TB NVMe.

I would just choose something that doesn't need crappy software to run. Even the Lian-Li L-connect software is hugely annoying and bloated. Corsair takes the cake, worst bloat of all.

To me, I think the best AIO currently is the EKWB Nucleus series. No software nothing. RGB controlled by your own boards software. You can get by using just a 240mm AIO. I would spend abit more on a good AIO simply because our ambient temperatures are higher than most other countries throughout the year especially if you do not use an AC. And the Ryzen's are very temperature sensitive on how high they boost according to the temps you're running.

I am totally satisfied using ek aio basic pump running full speed 2600rpm after a year still very quite.

Not using AIO... I bought my air cooler BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 way before I build my PC... so dun want to waste it lor... anyway later I regret a bit should have watch a few more benchmark and go for DeepCool AK620 cooler or even the ThermalRight Peerless Assassin which is slightly cheaper and performs better... or go for the cheap and good Artic Liquid Freezer II.... but then now I already fitted my PC with all the fans... and to change to AIO now would be putting 3 x fans to waste...

But so far with the right tweaking... I think I manage to get peak performance for my setup without hitting the real thermal throttle of 89°C.... mainly setting is Negative Curve Optimizer All Core 30, and setting AMD Eco Mode cTDP 65W which equates to max CPU PPT 88W which is about 6W lower then usual max power draw... but actually works better and net me best CineBench R23 Multicore (for my setup) score at around 18465.

Yeah 2TB fills up very fast with all these modern games installation... I suffer a lot last time with just 1TB WD_BLACK HDD from many years ago... can only install about 2 to 3 big modern shooter on it.. anytime I want install anything else need to uninstall first...

Then few months before I build my new PC... I bought a external SSD WD_BLACK D30 2TB to alleviate it and it work just as well as a internal SATA on my old PC which has max a USB 3.0 Gen1 port which is 5Gbps... but this speed got doubled on my new PC lor.

So currently I have 3 x 2TB NVME SSD on my PC motherboard and 1 external 2TB for installing games.. those big and demanding games will go into the 2 x SK Hynix P41 Platinum 2TB, my WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB will remain as the main OS drive dun intend to install any games on it.. but if need I can do also... which is what I did before I bought the 2 SK Hynix during Prime Day promotion which costs me about $280+ for the 2 of them, really good deal for a 2TB drive.

The new EKWB Nucleus is very impressive. The new pump does not sit on the block like Asetek ones. It's external next to the radiator and I think it's a more powerful one. 13900k on that itself was barely breaking 80 degrees Celsius at PL2 in CB23. So I think for Ryzen it will run even cooler to the point you can just make do with 240mm version itself. Best of all 0 software.
