Where got space for shower. Still need to look for rest point to shower, refill water and charge.
since u drive should have no problem finding affordable accommodation in ulu places.

this size camperhome with bath? i think need to know where & how to dispose your waste, where to charge batteries? don't think can drive into city? haven't try yet & think don't ever want to try too

No toilet onboard, need to find onsen shops to bath. but this is the fun part... forced to try local onsen shops. btw i dun have any tattoos. haha.

I've been looking up these campers on yt. No problem parking in Hokkaido as long as dun park in cities. Can park in town areas, like konbinis, supermarkets, etc, as there are no height constrains. it fits well into a normal parking lot.

need to go camper's park to charge the battery. those parks look very remote and no lights at night with very few cars. scary. haha....

true about rv living. looks quite tough, especially sleeping on not so comfortable "beds". have to weigh the pros and cons of the camper. dilema... haha..

Go try and update us here on the experience... @oceanicmanta can give you some advice...

hokkaido hotels are cheap

last minute bookings can be cheaper

many onsen, public baths with attached restaurants, resting areas ... the tourist infrastructure is good for self drive n camping out ( only worry about bears if sleeping in tents )

camper van with cooking facilities is good ( but rental is expensive ) .. produce there is so fresh and cheap

else, have to bring own pan ( we buy from Daiso ) and portable stove

or can rent cooking utensils from Car Rental company too
i'm thinking of buying bentos, sashimis, etc from supermarkets to eat at night. go onsen bath first, then whack the food. cooking wise might be a hassle as need to prepare ingredients and cooking wares.

I think the main problem is sleeping at night... if winter/summer need to turn on heater/aircon... definitely need to plug in... and can only do so in camper/RV park... if nice cooling weather can just unwind windows...

Haha.. sorry for not updating. Very good trip. The family totally enjoyed it. Very beautiful Hokkaido. Love the spring niseko. The views of Mt yotai is so stunning. The peak is still filled with snow. I'd find some photos and share here.

@Andrew .. hotels near Sapporo Station

Gracery - very good BF. Smallish rooms

Hotel MyStays Sapporo North - overall good value

Toyoko Inn - basic business hotel chain. Cheap. Small rooms. Decent Breakfast.

Route Inn, Dormy Inn - higher price than Toyoko, have Onsen n nite snack.

there r many hotels to choose from near the station .. convenient if u r taking trains a lot

Some hotels have several outlets in Sapporo, so make sure have the correct one
