Thinking of doing my first gaming rig, the part I thinking trying to do is:

i5 4570
msi H87-G43 gaming
WD 1TB Green (is green or blue better?)
8GB corsair vengeance pro 1600mhz
samsung DVD drive
samsung evo 120GB
msi R9 280x
CM slient pro 620W
CM 690 III or Fractal Design Arc MIDI R2

can this fit in a $1500 budget or any better suggestion?

p.s : budget is just for the cpu hardware itself

Go for B85 board instead. H87 is more for people whom wanna do RAID and wanna take advantage of the extra SATA ports.

Else a B85 would suffice.

MSI B85 G43 Gaming + i5-4570 ~ $384
Gskills Ripjaws 1600mhz 2x4gb kit RED ~ $110
WD Blue 1tb ~ $76
Plextor m5s 128gb ~ $128 (Fast and comes with 3 years warranty)
MSI r9 280X 3gb Twin Frozr ~ $469
Seasonic G650 650w 80+ Gold Modular PSU ~ $135
Fractal Design Arc Midi ~ $129
Samsung ODD ~ $21

Total ~ $1452. Buy at tradepac. DIY

Optional Purchase Crucial m500 240gb from Amazon at $169.

Try find the Superflower HX600 600w 80+ Gold. Most likely no more. Cause most shops will tell you distro not bringing in.

As for Mobo. I leave it to you if you wanna have Asrock Killer or MSI Mobo.

I would personally go for MSI mobo as the board itself comes with all 5 fan connectors that has 4pin fan connectors and all are PWM controllable. The MSI VGA boost is also available for MSI GPUs to work together with the board. It has more USB ports at the back as compared to Asrock Killer.
