Advice for Accountancy Degree?

[R82 & W83]

Goodday,

Seeking precious advices from Accountancy seniors of b/m university.

University of Portsmouth
University of Bedfordshire
Swinburne University of Technology.

My profile - Graduated from Ngee Ann Poly 10 years ago. Poly results are mostly B (No GPA on transcript then). Passed ACCA Law and Tax paper but decided to drop out.

u can consider murdoch also. but i think portsmouth is not bad!

Additional option for you:

You may wish to consider Unisim's Bachelor of Accountancy too.

Look under career prospect tab.
No ACCA also can be CPA if you complete this degree.

Bachelor of Accountancy

You can then plan to take ACCA later as this degree will grant you exemptions for some of the papers.

Also, if you are Singaporean, you will be entitled to course fee subsidy if you're taking a degree for the first time.

What I will do is pick the degree with the quickest route and check if it is recognised by SQP, then go with it.

If u dont intend to be a CA, just pick a degree with better recognition loh..

I will recommend to take the UniSIM's one

Academic Base | Singapore Qualification Programme

only acct degrees from NTU,NUS,SMU and UniSIM are accredited SQP. If you are going to take a non-accredited degree, u will have to take the foundation programme.

i am lookg at portsmouth vs rhul. i like the subjects at the former whereas the latter is a little .

both same course fee, duration. i hope to join civil service with a degree & seriously don't know whether this degree would be recognised cos my CAT does not seems to be recognised

Have you considered attending a U.S. program? I received my degree from Babson College in the U.S. and was able to take classes in accounting & law. I found that after attending this program, I was much better prepared to face the business world.

If ure not local grad or from elite uni, i think not much opportunity in gov sector.
