help me with budget desktop

Hi, im new to pc modding and i've been wanting to build a desktop that can run cs:go ultra very smoothly (above 70 fps constantly ) and witcher at high settings for about 35 fps. I also need a wifi adapter to be included. Hopefully the case can dun be coolermaster n200 (ugly ). Please help

My budget is 1k including monitor ( preferably 22 inch )
Can be a little over budget
No need OS, mouse keyboard etc.

NOTE: i DO NOT have mastercard and only have visa so i can't do mastercard discounts from lazada. Prefered to get the entire rig from SLS but if really needed purchasing from online will be alright.

Yup, what dragonewt said. The 285 tends to perform slightly better than the 960, but just by a few fps. Some games will have the same preformance or favor the 960 however.

alright. does the i5 4460 greatly boost gaming performances since it's a quad core as compared to the i3 4160? does it have value overall?

It really depends on the game itself. But the quad core will only shine when you use higher end GPU. You will probably see a few more FPS if you upgrade.

depends on the game bah. Some games can utilize the 4 cores of i5 some like sc2 only use 2 core.

I also newbie, wonder about this myself when buying new rig, one thing can do is go youtube see those benchmark for witcher 3 with same configuration as yourself, see how they fare (gpu/cpu usage) during combat etc with max settings.

IIRC witcher 3 is more gpu intensive while cs:go more cpu on many players(eg 15/15) map.

Worst case scenario, the game refuses to run at all, but this has only happened with 2-3 games so far. Most of the time when the requirements state quad core, they will still work with dual core(with a few exceptions), some games may have fps drops or some stutters while other games will work just fine. See if others have reported these issues with their games using google with similar specs. If few/nobody reports any issues, you should be fine

ok i've decided to go with 4460 to play safe. now im thinking of getting the zotac gtx960 with the seasonic s12g 450w psu combo from pcthemes. do you think it'll do better since the psu is gold rated? really need advice now.. probably getting the rig on monday. are amd or nvdia drivers more reliable?
