LOL you are talking to someone who worked at distributor side before.
Reseller also go back to distributor what why you want to waste reseller time go back to distributor?
In the end you just want a working product at cheapest price.
Thats it. Service? If your product breaks down often you have a bigger problem
Singapore very big ah your time very precious?
I am at the manufacturer end so If you don't know where i am hinting at, you haven't encountered those situations before when you were working at those distys, because it may not be handled by your dept.
What you mentioned, have absolutely no concept of customer service in the consumer retail scene
How a shop deals with a customer can also be their USP.
What you have described is a very typical mindset of someone who has zero customer service orientation
Apply this to a valued customer and you can be sure to lose that valued customer.
Why do you think many manufacturers have adopted on-site servicing for bulky items?
Customers don't want to lug a monitor down to service center.
Adopting your mindset = Customer bring monitor to service center. they don't waste technician time. Customers only waste their own time
A more service-oriented approach means going the extra mile. Mfr service center sends someone don to customer's house.. Sure it is more expensive. But hey, its costed in. Higher price monitor, but better service right to the customer's doorstep
Customer's don't need to waste their time The tech who comes to service the monitor also gets paid. Win-Win Solution
Cheapo monitor, no svc costed in = Customer's problem is their own problem
Premium brands svc costed in = Customer's problem is the brand's problem
So going back
Apply your approach of zero customer service.
All shops sell the same goods
How to differentiate USP?
Just look at price lo...
Whoever sell cheapest can liao
So if i want to waste my time, i just go to the usual suspects and get my stuff at cheap prices.
Heck now got online also, so why bother going to SLS??
Now add in the service route. Shop willing to make it their trouble to go the extra mile.
Customers know shop has a USP. They stay on longer
The shops i mentioned obviously have USPs that made me remember them.
Otherwise, i would have bunched them up in with the rest of the other shops
Been doing my IT shopping online for quite some time but recently switched back to SLS.
Apparently, i waste less time going there and returning with the goods than to camp out at online stores Cheaper too.
GOING BACK ON TOPIC
SLS has many different shops. If you know what you are looking for, you obviously know where to go.
If you don't and still need to ask, you may be better off going to a shop who values their customers, rather then treating their customers as a sales digit.. In such scenarios, i might as well buy online and wait for the slow ninja to deliver the goods
