Advice for DIY rig.

As above. Usage would be gaming but not so much, watching HD movies. Budget is more or less around 1.5k.

Friend's recommendation was:
Gigabyte GA B85M-D3H Bundle Intel*® Core™ i5-4670
Gigabyte GV-N760OC-2GD
Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600MHz 8GB(2x4GB)
Corsair AX750 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular
Samsung 120GB SSD 840 Series
Seagate 3.5" 1TB SATA 6GB/s, 16MB Cache, 7200RPM
Jonsbo QT01 (Black Color)

Don't need: Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, DVD drive, OS.
Running Win 7 64 bit. Not gonna OC.

Is this build good to go? Or should I change? Hope the rig can last in the long run if only possible.

Go for g skill ripjaw x. That ram is better.

For psu u only need 550W, go for seasonic or super flower. If budget tight then go for FSP.

For SSD, plextor m5 pro is more bang for the bucks.

For HDD, WD or Hitachi is my personal favourite. Cos last time seagate hdd used to die on me quickly.

Since you mentioned not gonna game muh . A 4570 is more then enough. Yet furthermore the 200mhz is not gonna be any impact on performance.

No point buying a gaming ram. The performance almost no diff. Yet cheaper by $20.

Not need a gold PSU if you ain't gonna oc and ain't gonna drive sli or xfire..

Get the plexor m5p rather than 840 series. Faster and yet with 5 years warranty and a cheaper than Samsung.

Thanks guys for all the help given.

If let's say I want to fully utilize the $1.5 then how should I go about doing it? Would like the rig be more silent and have more decent audio. And will this rig last me for the next, say 4 to 5 years?

Get a better Graphic Card? Get a good speaker? And would a better mobo improve the sound quality? Or should I get a decent speaker straight?

P280 is a very silent case..can go read more reviews about it

Can get Creative sound blaster Z... The ASUS DX isnt that good since their drivers suck, and need to use 3rd party software to enhance it.

Can also get some fans to increase airflow in case, pun not intended.

Dont need a gold PSU 750W, its a waste of money. A bronze or silver PSU does not mean it will output less wattage, it only means it takes more power from your power socket to output the same 750W and the extra money spent on the PSU cannot break even from your power bills. Its a marketing gimmick.

Even a 620W bronze im running can run 760gtx in SLI. No issues. Other parts seems fine, suggest you get parts that the distributor is located near to your home, trust me it really helps when you need to replace/rma a part
