Advice for Japan Trip

Hello All,

Need advice for my trip to Japan in April.

Day 1 - Kansai Airport to Hiroshima.
Day 2 - Day trip to Miyajima.
Day 3 - Visit Bomb Dome & Museum.
Day 4 - Hiroshima to Kyoto.
Day 5 - Day trip to Arashiyama
Day 6 - Day trip to Nara.
Day 7 & Day 8 - Kyoto Area.
Day 9 - Kyoto to Osaka.
Day 10 to Day 13 - Osaka Area.
Day 14 - Back to Singapore.

Base on the above mentioned,
i would ilke to know whether any train pass which i need to purchase.
The other thing is for hotel in Hiroshima & Osaka, which hotel is recommended.
Lastly, in Osaka what are the places which i can visit.

Maybe the JR West Sanyo Area rail pass (4 days: 20,000yen) for day 1 to day 4.

Your day 2,3 and 4 seem to have a lot of free time. It's possible to go to both the museum and Miyajima in one day. What I did was I went to the museum first(Nearer to the Hiroshima station) then followed by Miyajima.

I am not sure what mode of transport you will be taking from Hiroshima to Kyoto but it doesn't require the whole day to travel between these 2 places. I suggest you to allocate at least one more day in Kyoto.

Btw, Osaka to Kyoto only takes 45mins by train.

[actually i think 1 day for miyajima is just nice, so u have time to go up mount misen. u stay for the sunset view of the otorii gate and the light up at night]

Day 3 - Visit Bomb Dome & Museum.
[u will probably have quite a bit of free time. no because there is nothing to see, but because the museum is super depressing and u will not want to stay too long. maybe u can visit hiroshima castle after that. can go hondori shopping street and okonimiyaki village at night]

Day 4 - Hiroshima to Kyoto.
Day 5 - Day trip to Arashiyama
Day 6 - Day trip to Nara.
Day 7 & Day 8 - Kyoto Area.
Day 9 - Kyoto to Osaka.
Day 10 to Day 13 - Osaka Area.
[can visit minoo park for sakura if u coincide with sakura season.
4 days may be a bit long for osaka, unless u are visiting USJ. maybe u can make a day trip to Kobe if u have spare time]

Day 14 - Back to Singapore.

Base on the above mentioned,
i would ilke to know whether any train pass which i need to purchase.

u can get the sanyo area pass to cover the first 4 days. the pass also covers ur ferry ride to miyajima

for hotel in osaka, u can consider hotel kinki in umeda. great location, good price.

Sanyo Area Pass is different from the Nationwide JR Pass, because the nationwide version doesn't allow you to take Nozomi Shinkansen.
I believe the Sanyo Area Pass allows you to take Nozomi shinkansen between Shin-Osaka to Hakata. But since I have not bought this pass before, so I can't say for 100% sure. Japan-guide.com website is usually pretty accurate, so since Nozomi is listed there, so I would assume that that info is correct.

I bought the pass and used to reserve tickets on Nozomi trains before.
