Hello fellow peeps,

I have planned for a gaming rig, and this will be my first time building one. I am here today to share my rig and see if you bros can advice me on my rig :)

Basically this computer will be used for video and images editing on PS, AI, Premier Pro and After Effects. It will also be used for FPS/***, AAA, MOBA, MMORPG gaming. I also have to run virtual machines on this computer. I will be overclocking the system and have a 2-way SLI in the near future too :) Would be cool if it is able to run in 4k or with 2 monitors

So without further ado, here's my build

<----------------------------------------------------------->
Case: NZXT H440 Steel Mid Tower Case ($163 from Newegg)
MOBO: ASUS Maximus VII Hero ($271 from Newegg)
CPU : Intel Core i7 6700K ($488 from Newegg)
CPU Cooler : NZXT Kraken X61 106.1CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($163 from Newegg)
GPU : ASUS STRIX GTX 970 ($461 from Newegg)
RAM : 16GB Gskills DDR4 2400 ($83 from Newegg)
PSU : EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR ($150 from Newegg)
Hard Disks: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB ($226 from Lazada)
Toshiba 2TB 7200RPM 64MB HDD ($92 from SLS)
OS : Windows 7 Professional ($40 from Qoo10)

Total Damage: $2137
<------------------------------------------------------------>

I am quite unsure about the MOBO, CPU Cooler and PSU so it would be good if you guys can help me with it :)

If you can wait, good to wait for pascal releasing in July..
If can't wait, and willing to compromise on some game, get 960 first and hoot 980TI after pascal comes out (foresee a price drop, can't be 100% sure though). If you got the budget, just hoot pascal cards :)

Just my 2 cents though..

I believe you forgot to factor in GST and shipping fee when you looked at prices from Newegg. Here's my recommendation..

Case: NZXT H440 Steel Mid Tower Case (don't think you can ship a H440 to Singapore from US. the shipping will cost more than the case)
MOBO: ASUS Maximus VII Hero @ $415 (Use $50 Qoo10 Coupon)
CPU : Intel Core i7 6700K @ $499 (Use $100 Qoo10 Coupon)
CPU Cooler : NZXT Kraken X61 106.1CFM Liquid CPU Cooler @ $161 (Amazon)
GPU : ASUS STRIX GTX 970 (get a 2nd hand one from marketplace and wait for Pascal in 2 months)
RAM : Corsair LPX 16GB C14 Kit (2x8GB) @ $98 (Amazon. can consider getting 2 sets, 32gb)
PSU : EVGA 850 G2 @ $168 (Amazon. recommended to get 850 and above if you intend overclock + SLI)

prices quoted above are in SGD. Using exchange rate of 1.4

PSU and RAM can get from amazon in one order(shld be able to hit 125usd for free shipping
SSD u can consider getting the 950 PRO from amazon also but separate order(enough for free shipping) if not will hit > 400sgd = gst
Case, mobo and CPU just get from local
Case: bulky, usually shipping ex
Mobo and CPU: sekali u self assemble but part got problem, if local at least easy to exchange
Cooler: just my 2 cents, if can find a relatively new 2nd hand cooler why not? That's what I did anyway, if not I would prefer local, sekali spoil easier to change

BTW iirc i got the evga 850w model for around 140-150sgd only, u might wanna consider amazon;)

If u wan win 7 I can give u free.. Can upgrade to win 10 also ;)

OMG thank you so so so much :) just one question, i understand that the 950 PRO is faster than the 850 EVO, but is the speed worth the money paid? for the case, i cant seem to find any local shops that bring in the color that i want, most of them are the white version or the razer version.

For H440, can call the shops in SLS to ask. You might be lucky to find 1 or 2 shops carrying the model. Never ever ship a casing to Singapore from US via forwarder. The shipping fee alone will kill you. If all else fails and you insist on a H440, go opposite the causeway and buy in Malaysia.

The Amazon parts I recommended all comes with free shipping to Singapore, directly.

u wont be able to tell the difference in real time de lah :s13::s13:

personal experience: past 840 EVO with windows 7 vs current 950 PRO with windows 10
boot up time for 840 EVO is 12 - 15s
boot up time for 950 PRO? 20 - 30s
i used raid0 for my 840 EVO btw.. 950 PRO dun support raid.

transfer speed sama sama la cant really tell de, just get 850 EVO is good enough. if u want to save space and cables get the m.2 version, just plug onto the board can riaos.
i used 950 PRO coz i tot satki only but not much diff

you might have issues with your settings on your 950 pro, boot up time is abnormally long

I got my Noctics 450 white from pct. You need to call them to reserve for you when the stock arrive as local stock is limited because the local distro don't bring in much stock for every shipment.
