Hello everyone.. would really need some advice.

My gaming desktop that lasted me 5 year.. is reaching its limit.

PROBLEM: Screen will just freeze, nothing will do but forcing shutting the cpu.

Model: Gateway FX 6831-01

CPU: 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 860
Motherboard: Intel H57
Memory: 8GB 1,333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
Graphics: 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5850
Hard drives: 1.5TB 7,200rpm
Optical drive: dual-layer DVD burner
Networking: Gigabit Ethernet
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

I feel that this computer specs is still suitable for normal-browsing use.. Any advice on what is the problem? Is the motherboard dead? What can i do to upgrade this computer at a low cost?

Thank you so much :(

Try to reformat and fresh install windows. If situation persist, bring to SLS level 2 let gs aka Nigel diagnose for you. He can advise you from there. ;)
