Hello,

I would like to build the following rig

Mobo : Asus Maximus VI Formula
CPU : Intel i7-4770k
GPU : Asus GTX 780 Ti
CPU Cooling : Corsair H100i
PSU : Corsair AX860i

I am using my previous CM case. Hooted 2x8GB DIMMs and 256GB SSD off Amazon. I would like help on:
1. HDD ( Seagate Barracuda? )
2. Is the PSU sufficient for future SLi consideration?
3. Is the i7-4770k worth getting should I go for something else?
4. Which fans best used for a push-pull setup on the H100i?

Any help/suggestions welcomed. Thank you in advance.

What is your comfortable budget? Is it going to be just a gaming rig?

Minus off the Software, DIMMs, SSD, Case, ODD and Monitors. I'd say 3k for the rest of the parts mentioned on the list. It'd be mainly be used for rendering, gaming and some editing work here and there.

So i would say you are buying something of more of a premium branding instead.

Asus Maximus Formula VI + i7-4770k ~ $864
Asus GTX780ti ~ $1079
Corsair H100i ~ $150
Corsair AX860i ~ $301

Total ~ $2394

In reality you only need

MSI Z87 G45 Gaming + i7-4770k ~ $622
Zotac GTX780Ti ~ $989
Corsair H100i ~ $150
Corsair RM850 850w 80+ Gold ~ $199

Total ~ $1960

Still got so much more spare budget to cater for a second GPU.

That is a heck load of savings. Could you give me an idea of a full build with only for gaming in mind instead for 3k-3.5k inclusive of software, ODD and monitor?

If it is just for gaming. Drop to i5. As most games do not utilize hyper thread.

MSI z87-g45 gaming + i5-4670k ~ $507
Gskills ripjaws 2x4gb kit 1600mhz ~ $110
WD blue 1tb ~ $78
Crucial m500 240gb ~ $235
Zotac gtx780ti ~ $989
Corsair rm850 850w 80+ gold ~ $199
Corsair Carbide 540 Air ~ $155
Samsung odd ~ $21
Windows 8 ~ $120
Throw in a good monitor to take advantage on the monster cards
Dell u2712hm ~ $558

Total ~ $2972 this build gives you the opportunity to add another card in future.
