Hi guys! I am kind of in a dilemma right now. I am currently a polytechnic graduate from Temasek Polytechnic. I have graduated from the course Games and Entertainment Technologies with a CGPA of 3.39. My O'Level result is L1R4 9 (After CCA Reduction).

I have currently applied for SiT DigiPen BS in Computer Science in Real-Time Interactive Simulation and got the offer. However, I have not accepted it because I also applied for NTU.

Now, I tried to be ambitions and tried to apply for the Double Degree Program in Business and Computer Science and put it as my first choice and I put the normal BS in Computer Science as the third choice. I don't know what the hell I was trying to do back then but now I am feeling a **** ton regret. However, NTU has not gotten back to me regarding whether I got any of the offers which I am highly doubting I got any.

The acceptance deadline for the SiT Computer Science course is 2nd of June and I do not know if I should just go ahead and accept the offer or at least wait until end of May to accept the offer while waiting for news from NTU. I have 2 things in mind right now. Either I accept it now and just go to SiT or reject the offer, wait till next year and apply to NTU again with the BS in Computer Science as the first choice.

The reason I am holding back is because what I want to do is just Computer Science in general and I do not know if the NTU Computer Science course will be better in terms of versatility and recognition as just a Computer Science Degree just in case the whole games industry does not work out in Singapore.

I really need to hear from you guys because the acceptance deadline is nearing and I have yet to hear from NTU. Any sort of advice on what I should do or any insights in this whole SiT DigiPen BS in CS in RTIS vs NTU BSCS would be helpful.

TL;DR: Do I accept the SiT RTIS offer now or try for the NTU Computer Science course next year?

What do you want to be ?

If you want to be a game designer go for Digipen

If you have no idea what you want to be then figure it out.

If NTU rejects you this year , what will happen differently next year that makes them accept you ?

Well don't lose hope for NTU just yet. Still have till the end of May to await their outcome. You can start appealing on 15th May. Appeal as soon as possible and hope that they reply you before the 2nd June deadline. If by 2nd June NTU has still not replied you, just accept SIT first. If you are doing NS, you can still try again for NTU next year and the placing in SIT will still be reserved for you.

I am hoping to learn more in-depth programming concepts as a programmer. If I apply again next year, I will be sure to put Computer Science as the first choice and see how that works out.

You can do that? I thought that you can only accept one offer at a go? So if I accept the SiT offer now I can still apply for NTU next year? Thanks for the input anyway.

You can accept one offer this year, which is SIT. Then next year you can apply again for NTU. You will still have the reserved SIT place until you accept NTU's offer(if you get it), next year.

You can only accept one offer in one year. So don't accept SIT yet. Once you accept SIT, this year's NTU application will be considered as withdrawn. Wait until NTU rejects you then accept SIT.

1. call sit ask for extension of deadline.
2. tell ntu ur situation and ask for application status. (they will probably jus ask u to wait.. but no harm trying)

if 1 n 2 fail, accept sit and reapply next year.

To be honest, GPA of 3.39 is not considered high for uni application so be prepared for it. The Double Degree very likely will not be accepted, I guess can only wait for the normal CS course.

From what I know, SiT is easier to get in. If u can take the risk, don't accept SiT and wait for NTU result. If NTU reject then next year apply Sit again.

Hmm, i'm like you too. Applied for SIT but hoping to try out NTU CS.

I missed the NTU application deadline, kinda regret it. Probably will accept SIT offer and apply NTU next year whilst in NS.

My gpa is 3.41, not sure if can even get a slot according to the recent IGP.

Oh well, just try luck :)

Yeah I have already emailed NTU regarding that issue. Still waiting for a reply though.

Haha yeah I know... Should not have slacked so much.

I will reject Digipen even if it means having to wait one more year - you can use the extra year to gain some relevant work experience if you are done with NS/don't have to do NS.

Why don't you apply for other IT courses too?

Thanks for the recommendations. Will try and look into those and see if I want to apply for them next year probably. I am going to NS first by the way.

yea digipen courses are tough, reported in news before that failure and dropout rate from sit digipen are substantially high. however its a good qualification in the industry.
