Abit over but definitely doable leh i feel, all items quoted from PcThemes de price list. If TS go buy from places like dynacore or tradepac can maybe squeeze down to 1k?

If oc I won't use that psu. At least a bronze imo even for budget build. Also ssd is a must. Hdd speed is unbearable for boot up.

I wont recommend that PSU if I were you.
I also wont recommend a 3GB 1060, it's neither here nor there, get a 4GB 1050Ti better.

See luck. No such thing as one brand is DEFINITELY better than another. Some Asrock can last 8 years, some Asus can last you just 3 years and die off. I judge by component layout design and BIOS support. Asrock did pretty good for AMD AM4 imo.

To further reduce the price, can get the 1200 instead of 1300x. After a simple and mild oc, their performance is pretty much the same

1200 oc to become 1300X
1300X oc to become 1400
1400 oc to become 1500X

Ryzen 3 and lower end Ryzen 5 perform almost equally good. Personally find the 1300X is slightly better worth. Just my own opinion, hence I recommend 1300X instead of the 1200.

Nope. 1300x will not reach 1400 levels.

Firstly, the L3 cache is only 8mb compared to 16mb of r5. Really important for ryzen's ccx design.

Secondly, r3 all 4core/4threads. R5 1400 is 4cores/8 threads so stuff like video editing is much more snappier.

Only advantage 1300x has over 1200 is that the 1300x can guarantee a higher clock oc. Thats it.

Day to day usage, won't see that big of the difference, really.

Still, what you say is not wrong. But I find the better worth in 1300X instead of 1200 out of the box as many people don't bother oc or don't dare try. Also, as you said 1300X guaranteed a slight higher oc too. Which does help with day to day stuff including gaming.

Nonetheless, TS budget can support up to R5 1400 if he so wished to.

1050ti 4gb is 30%-40% weaker than 1060 3gb in benchmarks despite the 4gb ram. I'm assuming TS only games in 1080p and below, which the 1060 3gb will win 1050ti hands down. For Prolly 60sgd more u get 30% minimally more performance, quite worth Imo.

You dont need to overclock to need a reliable psu, if current flows thru that psu you need a reliable one already.
I rather spend $8 more for EVGA 80+ Bronze ones, better efficiency, reliable caps, smoother power to all other components.

I know 1060 have better performance, only thought 3GB vram is not enough for good games, so I went for 6GB one personally.

Generally, the GTX 1060 3GB wins over the GTX 1050 Ti 4GB in most areas for gaming

However, the 3GB variant does have a weak point. That 3GB of VRAM will come back to bite you in the arse in VRAM-intensive games like GTA V, with corresponding symptoms like sudden framerate drops in intensive areas. That extra 1GB that the 1050 Ti will ensure more consistant FPS generally, based on our experience.

This is why we usually recommend to people asking us to build rigs to top up around $100 more for the 6GB variant.
