Hi all, I am new to this forum so please let me know if I did anything wrongly!

As I just shifted house, I am planning to buy a PC for gaming/streaming purposes. Any kind souls able to advice me on what type of rig to get?

I only use laptop and have little knowledge on desktops... Would appreciate if anyone could provide me links or guides on the type of parts I should get and how to assemble them!

Ok back to topic, my budget is around $2000-2300. Would need a monitor too, somewhere around $150-300! Btw I heard theres a new monitor with this thing called GSYNC... Is it expensive? Would like to get a GSYNC Monitor because I am really a sucker for screen tearing! ><

Some other info:
No need OS!
No need CD Drive also
I am a simple man, no need all the cool lightings and stuff... Just wanna play my games with ease :)
I don't know much about overclocking but If it's affordable in my budget it would be great :)
I also don't know much about GPU stuff like SLI and don't know what others... But if can afford, it would be great too :)
I play DOTA 2, and FPS games like DayZ and Rust
No need wifi card! I have wired connection
1080p 60mhz is good enough as I don't want to overheat hardware

Much thanks to those who are willing to help me out!!

G-Sync(Nvidia) or Freesync(AMD) monitor really out of your budget, I think they're in the $9xx range..

Due to your space constraint, I will recommend a ITX build..

you need to think thru between 1080p 60mhz and 1440p 144mhz gaming as a base. which resolution you are targeting. 2k can hoot you a "perfect" 1080p build so you don't have to get high end monitor. a decent 1440p gaming will need at least 3k.

Not a good reco..

Mobo choice Asrock is a better choice.
AMD R9 390 or GTX980 is available at this budget
SSD Crucial BX100/MX100 better price.
HDD make sure its made under HGST division. Can be seen on the sticker itself
PSU FSP Aurum 500w more than enough. $89 only.

Sorry! A little typo in my thread... My new house got enough space for a normal PC case :)

I don't like gaming on more than 60fps, as it tends to overheat hardware alot... But like I said, I'm a laptop user so I only play on 60mhz monitor :) So yeah maybe 1080p 60mhz would be good for me :)

Don't know what games he gonna play, so reco him a mid-high GPU
Then change accordingly :)

I play MOBA games like League and DOTA 2, but I really like FPS Survival games such as Rust, DayZ, and lots of new games like ARK Survival Evolved etc.... I really like FPS games alot because my laptop cannot play on smooth 60fps :(

Then you need a good GPU. Recommend GTX980 or Fury (if got stock).

I saw a wifi on the Mobo... does this mean it can connect to wireless devices? Because I don't need wifi card... I have a Sineoji homeplug 1800Mbps so I can use wired connection. Is there any better Mobos?

Also I not sure about the graphics card... Would Nvidia GTX be a better choice here?

Thanks Jian19, your recommendation seems good for my desired rig :)

Ok so I'll be asking them the list of items @ pctheme

  • i7-4790 + Asrock b85m pro4 ~ $539
  • G.skill Ripjaws 16gb ddr3 1600mhz ~ $225
  • Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd ~ $169
  • Western Digital HDD blue 1tb ~ $75
  • Msi gtx970 armor express ~ $499
  • Superflower leadex 550w ~ $129 (Whats the difference between 550w and 650w?)
  • Samsung eom drive ~ $24 (CD Drive don't need ba)
  • Fractal design R5 ~ $149
  • CM hyper 212 ~ $57 (Not sure about this one)
  • Dell u2414h ~ 339

TOTAL: $2181

Is there anything else I can add to improve this rig? Since I still have the extra $20+ to round it up to $2000 :D
