Advice needed for buying from amazon

Good afternoon guys, I need some input on buying a monitor from amazon. is it safe to buy a bulky item from there? I have never bought anything off amazon before. I would greatly appreciate your input. thanks

not qualified for free shipping , don't bother
if really strapped for cash , go look at second hand garage sale area ... I sold my dell monitor there last month ..... buyers can pickup some good bargain

Most monitors do not have free shipping to Singapore. If you factor in GST and shipping, it is usually cheaper to buy locally.

Monitors are rather fragile so there is some risk of damage during shipping.

Unless you can get the shipping waived, like the old days, I dunno if it's worth it. I think no warranty also. Risk of hassle if DOA or damage during shipping. Unless you stand to save a lot, I wouldn't bother.

Which model? Do your homework and compare prices first. Like this one doesn't look worth it at all, lol. Even before shipping and GST already more ex than local. Plus delivery, GST after conversion $2.2K

Local can buy/test/refund/wrranty all within a couple days time.

I've even considered some of the qoo10 monitor deals, but alot of deals are shipped from overseas which will definitely incur additional shipping cost "IF" the monitor is DOA/faulty/dead pixel etc.

Total will be S$443 after GST. But there is a risk of damaged panel.

If colour reproduction and looks isnt that impt, can consider qnix from qoo10. Can be gotten for below $300.

Just a simple example. the LG 27GL850 Ultragear QHD monitor costs only US$367 (S$493) if you buy in USA. But to deliver it to SG, you need to pay US$367 + US$77 (shipping) + US$31 (tax) = US$478 which is around S$642. So you end up paying S$150 more. This is the reason why many of us end up buying cheap locally assembled PRISM+ monitors.

Because it's "Local company brand" with warranty ba.
Actually amazon not all are cheap, there are a numbers of items Taobao is selling cheaper than amazon including monitors.

When I got my Dell U2720Q, I did some researched and Taobao/Tianmao 4K USB C 27 to 32 inches are SGD $3xx to $6xx and advertise as those Grade A panel used by big brands.

There are more than 1 reason why people are buying Prism+. Just different perspective and approach by Silverhawkeye. The price comparison is legit.
