Advice needed - Looking for new Android phone

I am an existing owner of an iphone X.

My contract with StarHub will be finishing soon.

I will be legible to recontract and purchase a new phone. So must as well!

I am looking to buy a spare phone for own use, preferably fork out less than $200 (with contract!)

For a change I’ll like an Android smartphone that’s small and compact, basic functions like surfing net and fairly good camera, with min 128gb. Preferably as small and light as my iPhone 4 but don’t think possible as most smartphones are quite big now.

Can anyone suggest what good phone to buy? I’m looking at Huawei Nova 5T but it’s quite big too. Some friends say if I buy Nova, must as well buy Mate 30 or P30/Pro. Afterall they are about same size but better specs. What about other phones like Oppo, Samsung, Xiaomi etc?

Can anyone give some good advice pls???

Small and compact, good camera and 128GB storage will be Samsung Galaxy S10e. Other wise all other phones are pretty big.

S10E looks decent.
Read one of the reviews, good specs but only got 3.5/5 rating.
Guess need to visit one of the SS stores to have a feel of the phone.

Nope. It's light. In fact it feel much more lighter than my old Samsung note 8.

Wouldn't say fantastic like those Huawei models. Fair battery consumption which can last my whole day of usages. Of course don't expect 2 days per charged. I turned off AOD and the adaptive battery setting.

One big downside I find with google phones, they have storage of only 64GB which is pretty ‘small’ by today’s standards.

Wonder why they dun wanna make it at least 128GB which is more comfy to many I suppose.

Huawei P30 ( might not have future updates due to US ban )
Sony Xperia 5 ( poor value to performance ratio )
S10 / S10e ( good all rounder )
Mi9se ( if you okay with MIUI )

Don't look at the rating, go see the phone for yourself. It is one of the phones that many people feedback to Samsung that they want a phone with smaller form factor, yet can squeeze a 5.8" screen.

If monthly OS update is a priority, then you can consider the series of phones under Android One or the Pixel phones.

Otherwise, some Android phones are full of bloatware which may slow down your experience.

You have unlimited cloud storage to keep your high quality photos.
