I have another question.

How’s the battery life of Huawei n Samsung?

For iPhone, 100% generally lasts me like 12 hrs usage - surfing, Facebook, WA. no games or watching online drama.

My iPhone 6S has pretty poor battery life (even when new or with the replacement battery now). My Huawei P20 is a bit better but not great.

My wife’s iPhone X has pretty okay battery life, similar to her iPhone 7+. I expect Huawei P30 and Samsung S10e to be slightly worse than iPhone X.

Edit:
But gsmarena actually shows P30 and S10e have same endurance score of 83 hours versus iPhone X’s 74hours. P20 is 75 hours. So you are probably feel similar or better battery life since iPhone X Battery also will age quite a bit now. iPhone 6S only has a score of 62hours.

Having used 🍎 smartphones my entire life, I think 🍎 battery start to hv issues after about 2-2.5 yrs. hopefully mine can last til next Dec when I will most likely get the iPhone 5G if it’s avail. 🍎 battery replacement as I know is not v cheap. I might not be doin the right thing but I get 3rd party batteries fr Sim Lim for abt $25 which can last me abt 1 - 1.5 yrs. no major issue so far.

I’m quite a heavy internet/social media user. One day my average is abt 90-120%.:o

Apple UI is pretty clean. Stock Android is a bit plain but some like it. Main attractions on Stock Android ROM is the potential more long term support but still not as good as Apple, still only Google phones are really good and not really Android One phones from Xiaomi or Nokia (okay they are more towards low end so with too many compromises).

Anyway you pay less for Android phones so be happy with it if the company supports the updates for three years (Other than Google and Android One phones, Xiaomi seems to be good). And the phone will still be functioning even if the company does not support it.

All in all, you do not need to care much about the UI, do not worry about the long term support, just need to manage the expectations.

High end Android phones excel in things like camera or gaming, but not that worth it if you are not that into these two.

Within your Budget, Mid high tier phones like Huawei P30 and Samsung S10e are pretty decent, with pretty decent performance, pretty decent camera, probably with the exception on battery life.

Call me fickle minded but I’m still contemplating between HW and SS.

SS - S10 vs S10e.
S10 $299 with $50 plan SH
S10e $229 with $50 plan SH
Since only $70 more, and much better specs it makes more sense to go for S10.
Size wise, S10e is not that tiny. It’s still as long as my 🍎 X but only slightly shorter than S10.
When u chuck inside yr phone pocket doesn’t make a lot diff.

HW - P30 vs P30 Pro vs Nova 5T
With $50 plan fr SH, P30 $99 vs P30 Pro $379.
P30 looks ok but need reaccess.
P30 Pro @ $379 feels like a premium phone price.
Nova was one of my initial top choices but lookin at specs, one might as well pay slightly more for P30 with more superior specs.

Note above prices still gotta add $100 for early recontract.

Will consider above choices before I recontract soon!

Haha, SH S10e is overpriced compared to P30. SingTel has similar price for S10e vs P30.

I do not want to buy any high end Android phone myself. So no P30 Pro or S10+ for me.

P30 Pro (with Google services) is a premium phone, its retail price is actually the same as Mate 30 Pro (no official Google services)

At the above pricing I will sure go for P30 myself.

On the other hand, you do get more if you pay more. Once size is not the constraints you have many more choices.

Thanks bro, you are the best, always giving sound advice. Appreciate it.

Yes, if S10e is priced lower, like $100+ with plan it’s a good consideration.
Why $229 with plan while others are pushing prices to abt $700+ (ah beng shop say one).
Think most people will prefer add $70 more for S10.

After goin thru the reviews, recommendations here, and goin to the shops to have a feel,
I think quite hard to meet my demands for a compact and phone with reasonably good specs, unless I go back to older iPhone models or made in China ANICA smartphone (recomm by ah beng shop) which is cheap ($100-200 range) but come with very basic specs. But as some Bros pointed out, phone too small also problem as we age, our 老花 gets worse!!! :s13:
