advice needed on dry cabinet

Hi I didn't use my lens for 4-5 years and it was kept in dry box. Didn't know when did the dry box died but when I opened it yesterday it was dead.

I was thinking should I buy another dry box.


My question is if my lens get fungus and I throw everything away one day, can I reuse the cabinet for another set up (mirrorless DSLR). as I not ready to purchase mirrorless now. I was worried the dry box will get infected with fungus too and affect my new set up

If your dry box is dead.........

And you are not getting new cameras then don't buy the new dry box first.

If you still have old lens and camera can buy a new dry box lah

IMHO.
The fungus spores can be anywhere.
The dry cabinet is to make the environment unsuitable for the growth.

If your lens have fungus, just put in a ziploc bag and don't introduce it to the new dry cabinet.
Dry cabinet can also store other stuffs beside photographic equipment.
