Actually...I think I've just changed my mind. Hahaha, might be actually getting a new system.
Might try an ITX build since space is kinda of a premium now. Gonna base everything off this casing: http://www.lazada.sg/bitfenix-prodigy-black-itx-200109.html

Although if there are better cases out there, do let me know!

Will want to maximise the life (5years+) out of this. The aim is still the same, which is has now upgraded to 1440p gaming pleasure and heavy Photoshop/Premiere Pro/Illustrator usage. :)

CPU/Mobo: Not too sure which ITX/Processor to choose!
GFX: ASUS STRIX GTX 980 4GB DDR5 / ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 AMP!
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
RAM: Kinda depends on the mobo?
Casing: Bitfenix Prodigy Black ITX
PSU: Superflower Leadex Silver 90+ Full Modular 650W

Any other parts to recommend? I'll probably not dabble that much into OCing.
Budget wise: <=$1800

To be frank, I don't mind having an ATX-size casing. As long as it's compact and small, I'm cool with it!

Hey guys, thinking of finally retiring my 5850 after 6 years. :o

I'll aiming to get a GTX 970, upgrade my rams to 16gb and getting an SSD.
Any advice on brands to get and such? I don't mind getting a second-hand card too!

GPU: GTX 970! - Hopefully <$550
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 8 GB (2x4GB Modules) Kit 1600MHz x2 - $144
SSD: Transcend SSD370S SATA III 6Gb/s Premium SSD 256GB - $132

Trying to save as much $$$ as I can. Hahaha. And I did most of my pricing off Lazada.

And lastly I guess that my current CPU (i5-750 lol) will probably bottleneck the 970, but I'll probably try to do some OC-ing for the first time...got to justify that Noctua cooler purchase I made 6 years ago lol. Just curious if the bottleneck will be very severe.

Aiming for maximum 1080p gaming pleasure and heavy Photoshop/Premiere Pro/Illustrator usage. :)

Will appreciate your input guys and thanks!!!

Oh yeah, any recommendations for a small ATX casing? My Cooler Cosmos is like the size of a frikkin' fridge. I'm using a P7P55D (ATX-sized) mobo currently! Not really rushing to change my case but it's something I'm looking out for! Something small and minimalist (no windows).

Cool thanks man. Anyway, just checking...for the RAMs, I'm not sure if my mobo supports it.
Checking the specs it mentions "Memory Standard: DDR3 2200(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066"

Still, thanks for the help! Really appreciate it!

No worry, ur mobo will clock down RAM speed.. It just rated to able to run at 1866Mhz..

Unless u r mixing RAM, then that will be a diff story.. best is to buy back the same RAM module that u r using now
