HI,

Need some advice on compatibility issues. Want to upgrade my GPU as my current specs cant run Overwatch on minimum requirements.

These are my current specs (stock HP model):
Processor: i7-4770, 3.40 GHz
GPU: GT 635
Motherboard: (i think is inbuilt with the stock model): HP 2AF7
RAM 4GB

What is the cheapest GPU card that I can get to run the game at >65 fps at High Settings? And are my other parts compatible with lets say a 950GTX, or do they need to be upgraded as well?

Thanks!

yes u can swap out ur gpu out to a new one.
other parts meaning wat?

my motherboard and power supply.
worried about bottlenecking issues. coz the original GPU that came with the retail stock model is quite bad, so not sure if the build can support a gaming gpu?

both motherboard and power supply might be hard cos of your casing...

well yes the stock gpu isnt that powerful, but the new gpu u gonna get like GTX 950/960 shouldn't be a problem with bottlenecking. as your cpu still quite good.
u just need to get a new SSD and ram upgrade along as well.

unless u wanna overhaul your whole pc? :s11:

Yep, definitely will need a change of PSU.

Edit: Just realized that it's slimline. Ignore

ok after looking at some pic of internal, its too hard for to make any good upgrades...

the reasons is that u need a low profile gpu and next the casing and psu is limiting the choices of upgardes as well.

i would prefer u might wanna build a new pc.

edit: well u can get a new low profile gpu like what herman say and maybe get a ddr3 ram and a new SSD for OS and everything.

thanks for all the replies!

so because of space issues in the casing, my GPU upgrade is limited to 750 Ti, am i right? And I would also need to change the Power Supply? Any issues with the motherboard?

750Ti and i7 4770 would be compatible right?

Slimline 400 series. LOL. I have tons of these in my office.

You want to get a SSD? You need this:

yup space issues. Well u just remember to get a LP GTX 750 ti.

PSU not easy to change, u will need to search the web and everywhere to find the right one.

yes its compatible.

I heard of some BIOS whitelisting permitted parts in some prebuilt PCs. Just be aware that it may or may not allow parts to be swapped or replaced easily.

That's why trying to upgrade a prebuilt PC is always a pain, even if it makes economic sense with limited freedom in choice of possible parts.

You won't know until the part does not get recognized or detected.

Manufacturers will not declare or reveal to public either. You need to experiment and take the risk. Not sure about HP policy with regard to this whitelisting.

Think mostly whitelisting is applied to wireless cards, and was practised by Lenovo.

Read these for more details:
