can I know if the japan rental micro sim card can work with your sgp z1 phone?


I wanted to rent the sim card from Softbank (just for making local calls) but got this reply:

This rule or law means that we are not able to rental for the smartphone which has not pass this law.
If the smart phone has passed this law, the phone must put this certification mark on any places.
Please check of it on your Sony Xperia Z1 model or not. Last year, we checked that Overseas model has not
passed this law. As we attached the certification mark by attached file, please check of it.

We are looking forward to your replay again soon.

I have the same issue, I rent a iphone 4s sim card from them, when I was at the counter, they ask me for my iphone 4s and they say they would like to test it on the 4S, I told them the phone is not with me and wanted to try it on my note 3, the staff tell me it can't be use on the note 3, don't even allow me to insert it on the note 3 to test.

I tell them just rent it to me and I will get the iphone 4s to test it later, after that I went to a corner and insert the sim card into my note 3 and turn off the mobile data setting (I do not have the intention of using mobile data with the sim card) and guess what it works for the next few days on my note 3 before I return the sim card back to them.

If you want to rent a simcard in Japan, some companies are very strict about the certification mark. Softbank is very strict and usually they will want to see your phone before they will rent it to you. iPhones are all certified so if you have an iPhone, it is okay.
