Hey Guys

My first custom rig and am thinking of the below build after doing some research and reading the forum.

Have already got the GPU and SSD.

Usage would be mostly gaming, games like total war more than FPS.

Would need wifi - any recommendations on whether to get a mobo with wifi or just get an external adaptor?

Budget of around 1.1k Need a monitor.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI B150M BAZOOKA PLUS (or Mobo with Wifi?)
Cooler: Cryorig c7
Memory: Corsair LPX 8gbx2
Storage: Crucial MX300 525GB 2.5" SATA SSD
Storage: Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card: Palit gtx1060 dual
Power Supply:SUPERFLOWER SF LEADEX 550w GOLD F.MOD 139
Case:Recommendations?

Thanks!

Base on your budget, I don't think 1.1k is enough even though you already got the ssd and gpu.

Consider this:
CPU + Mobo: i5 6500 + MSI H110i Pro AC (418)
RAM: Kingston ddr4 8gb (63)
HDD: Western digital blue 1tb (72)
PSU: Superflower leadex silver 550w (119*)
Case: Tecware F3 white (49*)
Monitor: Dell 2316h (185*)
Cooler: cryorig c7 (55*)

Total: 961

*Buy from Lazada. Wait for black Friday sale next week.
The rest are from PC Theme pricelist.

Oh my apologise, missed out that you already got your graphic card, along with SSD.

in that case, shouldn't be a prob for most of your parts.

But do take note if you choose the B150m mobo, no point getting a 2400mhz ram as the mobo will run the ram speed at 2133mhz max.

Thanks Bros for the advice. Looking forward to the Black Friday sale!:s13:

drop the cooler and get a better casing.

Any recommendations on casing or brands I should go for or avoid? New to self-assembly so didn't know there's such a thing as "better casing". Thought it's just a matter of look cool or not so I didnt really bother since im more of function over form.

Cooler Masters casing are common, but they are reliable. I am very happy with my CM Storm Enforcer which have served me for 5 years.

If you have change to spare after getting your parts, perhaps can get the Phantek Evolv series. They are quite popular recently because of their sleek and simple design.

Cable management and good case fans will give you much better cooling. But then again, the better case tend to be easier to do cable management

well for me i still think u should just scrap off the cooler unless u really need that quiet noise. but when gaming gpu fans also produce noise as well XD

case i still think if u can consider those box type can get TT Core V1.
but this case u can get it if u intend to get a wifi build in on the board.
