advice on cpu temperature

i5 4670k
asus maximus vi hero
corsair h100i
fractal design arc midi r2
ram 2 x 4gb corsair 1600
gtx 970 msi

Hi
intend to overclock, but before that try to run prime 95. Still on stock.
On 100% load, my cpu temp reach 100c after a couple of minits running on all 4 cores using realtemp.
On idle its between 35c to 40c. Appreciate ur advice from the experts here. My first time building rig. Thks.

Is your pump working? Did u connect the sata power in h100i

Use Aida or intel xdu for stress testing. don't use prime95

Yup already connected, using the corsair link ive set all fan rpm to max...

Resit your cooler. Make sure there is thermal paste on the copper head. Something is not right. On load stock settings should not shows 100deg.

Ok will do.. I juz bought the mx4 thermal paste.. need to clean off the existing paste, any particular solution to use..?

Ok thermal paste reapplied n cooler resit.. now max temp was 71c 100% load.... still high?
