Advice on DIY PC

Hi everyone,

This is my first time trying to build my pc and I am planning to head over to Bizgram at Sim Lim Square to build a gaming pc.

However, I need some advice on my configuration whether it is realistic for a mid range gaming pc. If not, I appreciate an alternative build! Also, I appreciate if any one of you has a better shop for me to go to!

550W PSU is enough for 1070, unless u wanna leave room for upgrades then go ahead with the 650W

If you are comfortable with online purchase, do get Xigmatek Tauro G 650W fully modular 80 Plus Gold certified PSU at just $79. Today all major online shopping platform having major sale... Would be better if you ask 2 days ago..

I'd advise against Corsair Cs series, reason being that CS series only have 3 years of warranty. The CX series is a better deal than the CS series at the moment. Alternatives can be Seasonic Focus+ 650W, Coolermaster V650 (apparently not bad reviews on it). Superflower Leadex is pretty good too, but I'm not sure if it's modular.

Heard the windows 10 key is illegal? Is it safe to get it from carousell?

Haha, was thinking to just get all the parts from 1 shop. Might get discounts and more convenient!

So far the discountx from online shopping platforms are far more substantial than what shopfronts can offer. For example, the rig i am building for a friend saves him ~$150 through all the coupon/promo code usages.

Key is not illegal. The seller is just not distributing the keys legally. For me, i got mine from taobao for less than $2 and they are probably from similar source as those carousell sellers. For me, i feel safer losing my $2 than spending $12 on carousell if these keys turn out to get banned by MS eventually. Then again, my keys are surviving well. Carousell keys need to survive 6 times longer than mine to deem equally worthy.
