Need to build a new computer as my old computer(4yrs) is dying. Mainly for gaming, casual photoshop and maybe some Maya. Games i play are usually dota2 and bf, but at least should be able to run the newer games but not necessary on high quality. I think my budget would be around 1k, but can fork out a bit more.

Still have some usable components,
Samsung 1 TB SATA2 3.5" HDD
Seasonic M12II 520W 80+ Bronze
Samsung 22x Sata DVDRW
Monitor and win7OS

I seen a few recommendations and most suggest buying from tradepac, but i heard it is not newbie friendly. Is it because it offer lower prices?

Thanks!

Do you need Keyboard and Mouse?

Tracepac offers lower prices if you know how to bargain but you must be firm to get what you want.

1) i5 4690 paired with H97(Not Z97 board since you're not gonna overclock it, Z series boards will be a waste of money) -

2) GTX 960(More than capable to play the games you mentioned @ 1080p) or Invest slightly more in a GTX 970(But will be overkilling in my opinion)

3) Get a SSD(Samsung Evo 120GB) for Windows OS + 1 or 2 frequent games you usually play.

You're probably good to go. Unless you dont mind upgrading your PSU to Corsair RM Series. 650 Watts would be kinda good.

You can go to Fuwell @ SLS and look for Alex. Friendly chap that will never recommend you things unnecessarily

I think TS also needs a casing.

Or you can go tradepac get your parts, the price difference is worthwhile to tahan some service deficiency.

I need to see your remaining specs to see which other parts are actually still reusable and may not be faulty at all...

I think TS also needs a casing.

Casing very subjective bro. There are many cases out there and some may choose Functionality > Looks or Looks > Functionality.

For me, i'm using the NZXT H440, kinda pricey(SGD $199.00) but its very sleek and in my opinion one of the best looking cases out there. If not, normal cases ranges from $79.00 onwards such as Cooler-master.

Nope, i have a mouse and keyboard, so if i just base on the price list and order from them, i would just need to ensure they charge me the correct pricing and the parts are new?

I will check the prices out but i cant seem to access hwz's price list, keep asking me to log in to view but i am already logged in.

Would my current psu(520W bronze) be able to support them? cause i do have around 2/3 years warranty left on it and i recently just rma it. I do have a similar spare one at 620W bronze recently just rma but warranty just over.

I think TS also needs a casing.

Yes i would need a casing as well.

So i would just go in and buy the parts and just ensure everything is new?

Okay. Here are my current specs:
AMD X4 925 2.8GHz + Biostar A780L3G
Team Elite DDR3 2 x 2GB
Samsung 1TB SATA2 3.5"
MSI R6850 1GB cyclone
Seasonic M12II 520W 80+ Bronze
Ikonik soho2 casing
Win7 home premium 64bit

All my parts except my psu have no more warranty. My gfx card is dead, my computer is running on the mobo's now. I hope to replace all except the psu, hdd, dvd drive.

I do have a spare Seasonic M12II 620W bronze recently just rma but warranty just finished.

For me casing doesn't matter much, as long as it serves its purpose and is not that expensive i am ok with it.

Thanks for everyone's input!

Go and check their prices here. When go down to their store, try to ask for a discount(Few dollars off) from them.

For the PSU, yes, your current one get can the job done.

I am not sure what brands should i go for, and regarding warranty, do all brands give 3 year warranty for mobo and gfx card?

Also is there any alternatives for gfx card, wanna explore more options.

haha, i think customer service is ok.. cause if i know what i want to buy, just buy and go le, no stock then look at other stores then. Anyway the quality seal is on the box or inside the wrapping? I no experience in that

You can do a memtest of your Team Elite RAMs, they can be reused. They have lifetime warranty too don't they?

GPU: Zotac GTX 970 4GB Twin Fan @ $421* (Lazada Singapore)
5 years warranty.
SSD: Samsung SSD EVO 850 250GB @ $161.50^ (Lazada Singapore)
5 years warranty. One of the best performer.
CASE: Xigmatek Recon @ $45

Total: $1040.50

Buy others at Tradepac, #05-18.

*Price after Lazada 10% or $30-50 discount coupon (TBA later)
*Price after Lazada $20 discount coupon (TBA later)

NOTE: Those coupons have been offered before and can be offered again during Lazada birthday sale from tomorrow (7 Apr 2015) onwards. Do look out for those sales.

Yeah majority of them are 3 years. In my opinion(Terms of reliability) get either Asus or MSI MOBO. Likewise the same for graphic cards.

Hopping in since we are talking about tradepac. I need help to remove existing components and transfer to new case. Is tradepac... Reliable/trustable? Heard not so good things about them.

Thank you for your suggestion. For the rams, is it ok to mix them since they are different brands.

For the Zotac Gfx card, hows does zotac warranty works? they do have a local service center or something like corbell?

I see, thanks. For me i would prefer msi cause of corbell, RMA quite a few times and service not bad ah

I think for now, i will wait for lazada sale starting tomorrow!! After that i think i will come back this thread and see how.
Thanks for input guys!

I think you can try this shop, since you only want to move components?[SIC] New setup corner for all DIY Hardwarezoner ^.^ I heard his quite nice, his phone number at his siggy.

These Zotac graphics cards are distributed and sold directly by Tech-Dynamic (another local distributor) at Lazada. So you can just go down to their Chai Chee service centre and RMA like Corbell, CDL, Convergent, Ban Leong, etc...
