Hi guys, i need advice on my gaming rig build.

Will need everything besides mouse and keyboard.
Using it for gaming, if possible at max settings for most games at the moment. E.g BF4
Do not plan to overclock the CPU as well.
As for the budget, $2000-$2200.

MSI H87-G43 Gaming + I5 4670 - $468
Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB OC Edition - $558
G-skill RipjawX 1600 Mhz 8gb - $122
Samsung 840 Evo 120GB - $149
WD Blue 1TB - $80
Fractale Design R4 - $169 (Really prefer as little noise as possible)
Seasonic S12G 550w -$105
TP-Link WDN4800 450Mbps DB Wifi-N PCI Express Adaptor - $65
Asus DVD Drive - $26
Samsung 23in S23C350H LED Monitor -$218
Windows 8.1 Home Standard 64nit - $128
Creative SBS A250 2.1 Speaker - $45

Total: $2133

You can change to MSI H87-G43 Gaming + I5 4570 ~ 407 (.2ghz difference, but not really a deciding factor for games. a good gpu is more important)

psu: can consider superflower hx500 gold modular/hx600 gold modular for roughly the same price.

DVD: can get the cheapest. or use USB to install windows if you need it for windows installation only.

display: can consider dell s2340l ~209/219 glossy screen as alternative. but up to you.

The rest looks good to go!

The rig is fine.

TS if you do not need any RAID functions and the extra Sata ports, it is best that you go for MSI B85 G43 Gaming Mobo will do. Do not need a H87.

As for PSU, Go for modular type. This gives you a better wire management and less clutters for the wires you do not need to use.

List of PSU types that are recommendable.

Superflower HX500 500w 80+ Gold (semi modular)
Superflower HX600 600w 80+ Gold (semi modular)
Superflower Leadex 650w 80+ Gold (Fully modular)

Corsair RM650 650w 80+ Gold (Fully Modular)

Seasonic G550 550w 80+ Gold (Semi Modular)
Seasonic G650 650w 80+ Gold (Semi Modular)

Just wondering, is it true that non modular are more reliable than semi and fully modular?

In what way?

In a way that the power output is always consistent. 550w will always output 550w and not depending on how many cable to pluck into it.
I wanted to get fully modular and then came across this article regarding psu power output. Later on went to gs and he mentioned the same stuff to me.

Of course there are still good modular ones, it's just that they are more prone to die out over time. Over time while having luck as an issue to. Hahaha. I'm sure some fully modular can last up to 5years with no issue.

With warranties frm 5-7yrs frm many (if not most or all) reputable brands im sure by the time the warranty is over its about time to get a new one anyways
