not sure what kind of 3d u doing or what program u using.

if what u care for rendering it is the number of cores and processing speed.
display large polygon count is ram.
graphics card vram also help in large polygon count.

i think the rig is good. just up abit more ram if you can. maybe to 32gb? get the graphic card with more vram. gtx 680 4gb and gtx 770 4gb both are the same.

Hihi, working already as a motion graphics artist.
So as to mean, buying a ssd is a luxury for my case? lol.
of cos to me if i can channel some of the cost to somewhere more suitable will be good. .eg. if no ssd i can buy another 1TB of hard disk and get another 8GB ram.

So in terms of GPU, the gtx 680 at 4gb ram is better than the gtx 770 at 2gb ram?

i see i see. hahaha! nice nice! hmmm not sure luxury or not. because i used a ssd. although not a must but more of a want.. but still.... it... feel.. great....~~~~~~~~ hahahaha

for ur situation try to max out with another pair of 8gb ram. if not wait till next time u feel not enough then upgrade.
other parts is fine.
remember to get extra silent fan for ur pc! if not later rendering overheat.

ya i think so. not sure about the os part. can try run Linux if save money on os. lol

Lol. But changing the windows to professioal should be a better choice to utilise more ram I think. Just in case I adding more soon. Especially for us we need the ram to open multiple applications. Maybe cut some cost from the casing to put more money to the os. Lol

hahaha ya best get the pro version is better. uhh i do not suggest cutting down on the pc case. i had problem back then using lousy case with good component. my pc just overheat and spoil in no time. just spend abit more and can use long time without fearing that ur pc will spoil anytime.

Wins 7 Home premium dun support 32gb ram, only up to 16gb.

And can drop to MSI B85M G43. Can save around $40. Though not sure the mobo u refering to is the Gaming ver or mATX ver.

Not sure whr roy quoted you.

There are 2 ver, MSI B85 G43 Gaming & MSI B85M G43. Former is red and ATX, latter is blue and mATX. Difference of $40. Go check carefully.

I feel your rams are overkilled... 32GB leh... can consider using 16gb first. If you really hit close to 16gb usgae via task manager den get another 2x 8gb sticks. The money saved can get better gpu, like r9 280x 3GB.

Its the blue one. So is b85m g43. As for graphics, would prefer gtx this time round. Looking at zotac 770 or palit 680 Jetstream before. I believe a r9 280x equivalent is gtx 770?

Meaning I choose zotac gtx770 amp is similar to r9 280x?
difference should be the memory I presume.
The palit Jetstream gtx 680 got 4gb though

I not sure on the AMP! ver though.. but in benchamrks and games, both give off similar fps, +/- for each other.

I didnt take note of 680 during reviews though. You can go read up to find out more.

770 itself is similar to 280x, but brand wise may make a difference.
