I've been browsing this forum for a few days already and came out with this setup for my new rig. But I have some question regarding mobo+chipset and GPU.
1) which gpu it best for me?
Mainly playing blizzard games WOW, Starcraft and D3. Also at the moment playing on 1080p monitor thus no plans for 1440p yet.
2) Is my mobo+chipset overkill for games I play?
Thus, I don't overclock.

The rest of the items should be set to go. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Mobo+chipset = MSI B85M G43+i5-4570 ~ $348
RAM = GSkil RipJaw 1600mhz 2x4gb ~ $110
HDD = WD Blue 1tb ~ $77
SSD = Plextor M5s 128gb ~ $128
PSU = Superflower HX600 600w 8D+ Gold ~ $109
DVD = Samsung OEM ~ $21
OS = Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Ultimate ~ $115
Case = Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 ~ $130

Total = $1038

What's your budget?
I'd get 270X/280X/290/290X depending on it.

Well my budget is ard 1.5k-1.6k but if i can save as much i could its best :s13: as I don't wanna overkill on anything I don't need apart from my usage as stated.
As ppl says constant upgrade is best way to go...

Btw does x on the gpu means it can be OC?

No. X just means that it is a better card then those without X for the same series. For example 290X>290>280x etc

And R9 270 is enough for your usage for 1080p

An R9 270 or GTX760 would do fine.

I think 270x should be more exact... Top up abit more can run new games at high settings just in case you have any new games you wanna play. Or if you want move on to high end graphic games take 280x can play high settings on 1080p. Lastly your budget should be able to allow a 290 for 1440p should you have the plan for it

actually i advise you to try consider to get at least a 240/256 gb ssd. get it from amazon if possible as many of them is selling at 124.99 to 149.99 usd. 20 - 40sgd more you get x2 space.

ram - you can get 8 gb value ram around 80++. seriously i dun think there will be any noticeable different between the performance for this 2 ram

GPU - if you are getting a MSI motherboard, get a MSI GPU. main thing is easier for your to RMA if unknown problem arise for your rig next and maybe it have a better compatibility between them too .

No ushc thing as better compatibility de. I am running different brands and all are working fine.

Just choose 1 based on price and location of RMA.
