Advice on new PC build.

Hi all,

Previously posted in another thread and was told that it should be on a new thread instead so ooops... apologies! anyway....

I'm considering a first time build and even before i get worried about physically fixing it up, i'm already stressing over what to get!

Some info about my usage...

1) I mainly use my computer for normal use (MS Office, netflix and work stuff) and want to play COD:MW and most FPS. I don't stream my gameplay. Random note: I need at least 6 USB ports on the Mobo cos of peripherals.

2) My current monitor is a samsung S27B550, looking to upgrade this too, probably hoping to play games on 27 or 31 inch in ultra 1080p to med/high 1440p, 60 to 144hz? Any Recommendations would be great but not the priority atm

3) My current PC is i5 4570, GTX 760.. since 2013... so my hope is this com to last me the same amount of time, for 6-7 years, without having to upgrade CPU. Mobo or GPU. Additional upgrades in between those years would maybe be ram perhaps?

4) I'm planning to reuse some old stuff on my current PC, mainly 2 SSDs, 2 HDDs and Casing...

5) Any comments and suggestions on the below build will be helpful, whether its overkill, no need for so many storage drives or consideration of other components OR don't buy and to wait for this period to blow over.

Ryzen 5 3600X or Ryzen 7 3700X

Cooler:
Heard the AMD Wraith Prism Cooler is quite good so not sure if I need 1? Reviews say Noctua NH-D15 is good but i also read about clearance and what not that may require an attachment. so not too sure.

Mobo:
B450-F Gaming, Amazon has this but not sure if its flashed to be Ryzen 3000 Ready though. I am considering whether to wait for the B550 or just go up a notch to X570 but not sure if I use any of its additional stuff over B450. if I was to go for X570, I was thinking either the Asus TUF Gaming Plus or the Strix 570-F Gaming...

Graphics:
- Asus ROG Strix 2070 Super A8GB OC Edition OR the O8G OC Edition
- MSI 2070 Super Gaming X Trio

Storage:
- 1TB WD Black SN750 Nvme m.2 for OS, I got this from a deal shared on Amazon already
- Planning to reuse my 1TB Sandisk SSD, 500gb Sandisk SSD
- Planning ti reuse 2x 2TB HDD

Memory: 16gb Ram (8gbx2)
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200Mhz CL16
- G. Skill Trident Z Neo 3600mhz CL16
- Thermaltake TOUGHRAM Z-One 3600mhz Non-RGB (Heard this is new)

PSU:
- Seasonic GX 750w 80+ Gold
- Corsair RM 750w 80+ Gold

Casing:
I plan to reuse my Corsair 275Q

My budget is about $2k to 2.2k (if can spend lower that will be great!) but also don't mind paying abit more if it's for a more stable and "better" build, or am i being abit too overkill in the components?

Would it be better to go to SLS due to warranty or its fine to get my items from amazon or newegg?

My current monitor is the Samsung one... I'm planning to upgrade to a 1440p Monitor... either a 27 or 32 inch monitor... haha

For cooler can get this $23 from Taobao to your house direct. Gurantee you can't get a better cooler at this price. On par with CM Hyper 212 Evo but way cheaper.

PSU skip Corsair RM line, not worth it since they no longer use Jap capacitator.
Go for Seasonic GX.

Mobo, up to you, B450 can upgrade to 4000 series if it is MSI Max series due to their larger BIOs chip, can't say for other brands. B450 a bit tricky as it be beta bios and details not out fully yet.
Pay more for X570 but most probably 4000 series should be its last upgrade path too. 5000 series should be on a new board, new socket, new chips.

Ram wise, Crucial Ballistix if you don't need RGB, cheaper and no difference in performance.

GPU, no diff, get whichever is cheaper or the brand you like.

hey again.
honestly can see some places where u can save abit, but i wont force it on u, just some considerations:
if normal use like games and office, maybe can consider ryzen 3 3300x as u might not need all the extra cores, especially since u not doing core heavy apps or streaming. also can save on cpu cooler cost since fewer cores to deal with and can probably afford to use stock cooler.

mobo wise since b450 now can support zen 3, i think it is the better choice. since all of ur current drives appear to be sata based and the new ssd u r looking at is still pcie gen 3, there is no point buying 500 series mobos, unless u can get one for cheaper than b450. most of the msi b450 motherboards should be pretty good, and get the max series if u want to upgrade to zen 3 in the future (though i highly doubt u would).

speaking of ssd, i would recommend kingston a2000. almost $100 cheaper if u dont need that extra speed (which is already plenty fast on either).

gpu wise if the pricing is still the same as last time i would still recommend rog. but now i only see rog offering 2070s a8g, no a8g oc or o8g, so maybe u want to check back again. can also consider rx5700xt cards if they are cheaper.

for ram i hear gskill is a pretty good brand, but not sure about that specific model.

psu wise i not sure, never dabbled in the high end.

like i mentioned, msi b450 boards are pretty good quality ones, so if u go with their tomahawk or mortar boards things should be well. and on that note get the max versions of those boards, as they are ryzen 3000 ready and u wont face issues with bios as u are worried about (most of the bios complaints u read are probably due to the messy launch of ryzen 3000, most issues have mostly been resolved).

as for b450 vs x470, the only feature difference is support for sli (multi gpu) on the x470, which is largely irrelevant nowadays, so the cheaper b450 is the sane choice for the vast majority of builders.
