If you appreciate a map, you will see that Batu Ferringhi is located away from the action in Georgetown, Penang Hill and Guerney Drive. A single lane road connects Batu Ferringhi to Georgetown. At this time of the year Batu Ferringhi becomes a hotspot for tourists of Middle Eastern origin. I don't see any point staying there.

Didn't see any electric scooter around. Hire a bike or just grab since grab is very cheap.
I think 4 years penang didn't change much. Some changes, Komtar, entopia . .......

You can google "penang transport service", read their reviews.
I have a contact but his van is very normal type, so I don't recommend.
Normal rate is 8 hrs $320rm.
It's best to have a few attractions on your way to penang hill.

Hi everyone,

Am going to Penang for 1 day trip.

Should i rent a car or take grab there?

Will reach Penang at 1030am and my flight is at 830pm.

Any places I must go and eat? I realized alot of nice stalls mostly open at night, which I dont think i can make it.

You are right. You will have to drop Guerney Drive and stick around the historic city centre for your itinerary. If you do not mind walking more, Grab will do.

The Gurney Dr stalls mostly only open in the evening, but you'll be able to check out other stalls in the central Georgetown area, including the famous Penang Rd chendol stall which is best to get to early.

Uber/Grab should suffice, and if you want to check out some of the sights such as Penang Hill or the Kek Lok Si temple, you can take the public buses from the Komtar station.

Im planning to buy Starhub happy roam for my penang trip this Sep and Hk trip this Nov.

Is it ok for me to book grab/uber using my starhub happy roam? Or is it better if i get a malaysia prepaid card for booking?

The only difference is that i can't call my driver if im using starhub happy roam. But I'm thinking is there really a near to call my driver since I can use the text function within the app.
