Advice on potential rig

Hi guys,

I've come up with the basic specs but just want to cross check to see if I've forgotten anything, or if there is a better way to build one.

i5 6600k + Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
GSkills Ripjwas 2666mhz 2x8
Samsung 850 Evo 500gb
WD Blue 2TB
CoolerMaster D92
Gigabyte GTX1080 G1
PSU?
Corsair 780T Black
Windows 10 Home 64bit
Asus PCE-AC56
Asus 24x DVDRW

So a few questions:
A) I have no idea how much this will cost, if anyone has a price list (especially for the gigabyte GTX1080 G1 and the Corsair 780T) that would be great
B) PSU requirement. No idea how much power this will consume. I was thinking around 650W to 750W but would like to confirm
C) Any suggestions or recommendations? I started with a H170 + i5 6600 but then added ram and realized that I might as well go up to Z170 and that's how I ended up with the i5 6600K and graphics card.

what is the purpose of this rig? Budget no problem?

92mm is inadequate for cooling 6600k

I am using dual tower 140mm with upgraded fans .... still touch 72 d celcius at maximum overclock when video encode



the entry level asus z170 may have problem supporting ram speed over 2500mhz
different brand of ram and different bios version have some success .... but asus north america and corsair gave up when I last checked 6 months ago .... asus north america just said "this is a 4 layer motherboard, different from their 6-7 layer motherboard"
how I know ? because I got this motherboard and just buy 2400mhz ram case close .... I manually set the speed and CL , I do not use 1-click XMP or the 1-click overclock which is a marketing gimmick

b) thanks on the tip, probably going to get the 750W
c) won't be video editing or doing 4k just yet, don't think I will need the i7, no?

iirc, Asus NA mentioned 4-layer board try staying below ddr4-3000 (instead of 2500) due to higher sys agent voltage req'd...

hey, thanks for this, so if i'm hearing you correctly..
a) you're saying get something bigger than a d92, so are you referring to something like the hyper 612v2 or even a masterair maker 8..?
b) thanks for the tip on the ram, i'll stick with the 2400mhz

no need to stay with coolermaster .... CM is inadequate for 4.6ghz overclock


I am using phanteks tc14pe from amazon with higher speed fans ....
the original fans are 1300rpm x2 140mm
I changed the middle fan to 1500rpm noctua and the front fan to 2000rpm 120mm (120mm because of casing limit and ram height)
the original fans I use as intake
do a search on this cooler model .... it's MUCH bigger and the heatpipes are 8mm not 6mm


I'm using the early march 2016 bios for z170 pro gaming .... it's ok no problem except cannot use custom fan profile or pwm fan profile ... it does not save properly .... I select voltage control mode - turbo profile .... it ramp up to max speed at 70 d celcius

just buy corsair h115i cpu cooler, will run 4.6ghz prefectly.

a) since u know now can do your own budget markup.
b) yup get a 750W superflower or corsair.
c) well it doesnt matter, since your pc is build pretty much with a so called "future proofing" and beside that having a i7 also can help u in any later upcoming games in next year or next 2 years. ;)
