Advice on upgrades on my pc

Hi I intend to buy a new IPS 144hz 1440 monitor with g sync. Currently looking at ROG SWIFT PG279Q or Acer Predator XB271H

However I think my pc will be limiting the ability for games to run at 144hz.

Heres my spec for my 1.5 yr old pc.

CPU: i5-4460
MB: Asus H97-Pro Gamer
Ram: DDR3 4Gb X 2
SSD: 256GB Adata sp900
GFX: MSI GTX960 2GB Twin Frozen.
PSU: Seasonic S12II 520W

Should and can I upgrade my GFX to 1060, 1070 or 1080 series? And if so do I need a better PSU or CPU?

OR I will need to upgrade the whole PC in order to run at the full potential of the monitor.

Please advise me on the next steps if i can just save money on doing some upgrades or I will need an entire new PC. Thanks for reading!

just upgrade your gpu to GTX 1080 (if can) or GTX 1070 (the minimum).

psu maybe can get a 550W superflower ledex.

and add another 8gb ram.

1070 will have to tune to high settings to run at over 100hz for those high end games. 1080 is your better bet for the screen you're buying.

So my 520W PSU will not be able to support gtx 1080 and 550w will? Will my CPU support such high range GFX? Any model or brand of 1080 should I consider?

well maybe unable in next few years. but i still think that u should upgrade your psu as well if u intend to OC your gpu.

yes your cpu will not bottleneck by gpu.

well if pricing is your concern, zotac or palit. if not den go for msi or asus.
