Hi guys, after weeks looking around and research, I am going to finalize the list for the upgrading of my com and I would greatly appreciate any inputs from the pros in this forum.

The rig would mainly be used for work and gaming on max settings. I would be having a dual monitor set up, most probably with a 27 inch 1440p monitor in addition to my 23 inch monitor. The work that I do on my com are mostly word and pdf documents and I also multitask alot (open alot of documents to do work, music etc on the 2 monitors). Therefore, I hope to build a rig that satisfies these needs.

Budget wise I would be looking at around 2k.

CPU: MSI B85-G41 PC MATE + i5 4460

Always see this combi being recommended. Is this enough? Or do I go for the higher end i5 4690 or even a i7?

RAM: Can I reuse my G.Skill DDR 3 800Mhz 8gb ram?

GPU: ZOTAC GTX 970 4GB TWIN FAN

If I want to game on the 27 inch 1440p monitor, will this be enough to support?

SSD: CRUCIAL MX100 256GB

HDD: TOSHIBA 1TB 7200RPM + my 2 older WD HDD drives

PSU: Reusing my Andyson F650

MONITOR: Old 23 inch monitor + New Dell UltraSharp U2713HM

Still in a dilemma over this 27 inch monitor. Should I go for 1440p or just stick back to a 24 inch 1080p monitor? If I were to get for 27 inch 1440p monitor, are there any other recommendations?

CASING: Reuse my Coolermaster CM 690

These are the specs that I had come up with and also some questions that come along with them. I greatly appreciate any help and inputs given by the pros here. Thank you!

i5-4460 + Msi b85m g43 ~ $355
Reuse ram
Crucial mx100 256gb ssd ~ $160
Wd blue 1tb ~ $72
Palit gtx980 Jetstream ~ $799 / Msi gtx970 armor edition ~ $499
Superflower hx 600w ~ $99
Lg dvd rom ~ $21
Reuse case
Win 8.1 64 oem ~ $130
Qnix 27" 1440p monitor ~ $380 (Qoo10) / Dell u2414h ~ $359 / Dell u2713hm ~ $750

$2016 buy and DIY @ pctheme ask for discount.

If u plan to play latest games on 1440p max settings u might wan to consider a gtx980, if the game u play is not that demanding or u dun mind turn off AA a gtx970 might be better on price/performance level.

Do consider get a new psu for ur new setup

Monitor wise the Qnix monitor is pretty good for budget should u decide to try a 1440p monitor, the downside is the warranty can be tricky on it. Should u decide to get a 24" monitor a gtx970 will be good enough for it.

Do check if ur ram is compatible with ur new setup.
