family vacation in Mactan / Cebu

staying Shangrila Mactan Resort (booked)
Tiger Air (booked)

now in a dilemma in light of the tragedies in the country ...
not sure if should proceed with the planned holidays

haven't spoken to the hotel, but their standard policy is no refunds

Tiger Air says no refunds ...
but allowed to change destinations at extra $

seeking advice / views ...

Cebu wasn't the hardest hit location on the typhoon and unlike other places in the Philippines, like Tacloban, Cebu is still ok and open for tourism.

and yes, that's exactly what i was informed by their tourism board, and the resort's management

but one can't help but wonder (and not ask) due to logistical and safety concerns ...
dun wanna go in blindly i suppose
