advise for new graphics card

guys, any advise as my current old GPU card is nvidia geforce gt220. I think is old n dying.

would like to upgrade to a better card? any card to advise that sim lim sq has the best for now.

my current psu is 300w onli...

wan just buy a better card that is the best for 300w rig.

What's your budget ? Your rig specs ? Games played ? PSU brand ? Going to chg PSU ? For the moment i can only suggest PC 7750 1GB @ $145 (PCthemes) .

Just change the mobo and cpu as well. Most likely ur mobo is p5 or p6 series which is still using pcie version 1.1a. Hence both cpu and mobo will bottleneck the current 7850 gpu and above.

Unless ur usage is not gpu intensive then just go for 7750.

One thing to take note, if ur current psu has been using since day 1 of this rig. I suggest u change it, cos it should be more than 5 yr alrdy.

my bugest can go up to $350.


so the pc 7750 1GB @145.. just plug into the PCe slot . no need external power pin pwoer right coz mine PSU does not have that..

so this 7750 better than mine gt220?

I strongly suggest you change your brandless and old psu. You never know when it starts to blow up and cause detrimental damage to your other components.

Your budget is more than enough to accomodate these 2 upgrades.

mine is HP brand pc.. the PSU might be not able to fit in FSP Hexa 500W @ $235

i also strongly recommend u change together, change new card later the old psu start to bottle neck and spoil all the internal organs of the PC. really advisable to invest in cleaner power and better psu ><

Firstly your pc is an OEM one. If its a slim pc you might not be able to fit in normal sized graphics cards. What is your PC model?

Bring your PSU down when purchasing so that you can check with the store if it fits. If your casing is of a normal ATX size, I suppose it should work fine. 350 bucks can get you a HD7850 2GB with a reasonably good PSU.

If u are not confident it's better to bring your rig down to sls to make sure the card or psu if u are buying fits into the chassis.

The prob with 300w from nameless brand is Rte quicker depreciation in performance and stability.

A good and new 300w psu from a good brand and support 7750 But yours is quite old alr.

And yes 7750 is better than gt220. Google for gpu comparison 2013 for benchmark of both gpu.

Another way is to just measure the dimensions of your current psu. A standard ATX psu should have a dimension of 150(W) × 86(H) × 140(D) mm. The FSP Hexa 500W psu which one of the bros recommended has the same dimension.
